This^^^ Fat is NOT your enemy. Its actually really good for you if its the right kind. Eating fat does not make you fat. If that was try eating a carb would turn you into a carb. Try nuts and eat your meat! 30g of cashews is 171 caloires and 9 carbs...its only around a 1/4 of a cup for a serving.

I think the answer depends entirely on YOU. If you can maintain control, stay within or close to your calorie goals, avoid high fat empty calorie foods, and meet your macros- then eat what ever you want. Its the deficit that really matters. Yes, the content of the food and its nutrition matters but its also contingent on…

Try the shorts. Heat rash is a real thing so it could just be that.

For a particularly intense workout that challenged muscle, 36-72 hours later is the norm for me. The day after I am usually fine, days 2 it starts. Hope this helps.

My friend has. She also has celiacs and she basically decided to cut anything with sugar, ate normally otherwise, and lost about 100lbs. But then in the process she also had to have major surgery because of a unrelated tumor in her abdomen so I think the pain, meds and having to basically sit for 6 months also helped shed…

This is off topic, but weigh the prepackaged stuff too. More often than not its slightly more than the serving on the bag. Half the time I weigh my pop its 366mL or more, not 355. That slice of bread or hamburger bun is more or less than predicted. Its little but those things add up...

Nuts or chips. Calorie dense foods with minimal sugar. Protein-ie. meat. Greek yogurt. If its less than 100 calories from my goal I generally dont worry about it, but I have gone thru periods with a lack of appetite so I do force myself to try and meet my calorie goals for the day. I am active and my body requires fuel-…

When I make a meal- I try to add at least half a plate of filler veggies. Im someone that has to be full or I get tempted to munch. When I am trying to lose weight I double up my veggie portion because it helps me succeed and gives me micro nutrients processed diet foods just cant. Dinner might look like this" 6-8oz beef,…

I mix about 145mL of apple juice with a can of club soda. It gives me the fizz and bite of soda but way less sugar and chemicals.

bump for later. Sounds good. :) Would it work with pumpkin protein powder do you think?

I lost about 5lbs on my 10 day cruise last year (plus an extra 6 days in the port cities). We did almost daily excursions though so we were fairly active. Im also gluten free so that limited the snacking I could do and half the time I got served a plain meat with a baked potato with absolutely nothing on it. Lots of fruit…

www.iifym.com is another good site with a bunch of calculators on it.

Im working on gaining strength on a deficit. It means that my deficit is less than someone who is just dieting. I eat between 1800-2100 calories, depending on the activity that day. My exercise is split betwen cardio, strength training, and stretching. I really focus on getting my protein macro up as high as I can because…

Yes. I am 203lbs currently and I have got myself up to working out 5-6 days a week. My TDEE is estimated around 2600 per day right now. I eat in the 1800-2100 range depending on my activity level for the day. Some days it takes work, but nuts, avocado, and other calorie dense foods can be your friend. I dont want my…

Do you have IKEA in your area? Both my mother and I really like their pots and pans. They are very affordable too!

LOL. Yes, I'm a woman. And sportsbra is on my radar, no free cash at the moment. I'm not terribly large chested so a well fitted bra and an undershirt is working out for me. I'm actually having more of an issue with my *kitten* bouncing along behind me playing catchup. :blushing:

Depends on your body and your life. I start to feel sick about an hour after I get up if I dont eat something. I stick with a fried egg and some nuts. If you are exercising right when you get up, then I think eating is important. Food is fuel. Your body can only run so long on an empty tank. If you are only sitting around,…

nope, not well enough to be ice-free. I live in rural northern Alberta. It never really gets warm enough for the roads to clear. I could run in the city but it would be on my lunch hour and then I would be too sweaty for the afternoon. Even the runners I do know only go occaisionally in the winter. Sidewalks can be bad all…

Thanks. I'll have to spend some time on Jeff Galloway's website. I found a couch to 5k program online for the treadmill. I've been following that. It alternates walking and running. So far I am doing ok. I have to set my run for at least 4.2mph or the treadmill tries to trip me. I think the band is a little lose, it does…

My mom has a sulfite allergy. She does ok though- mostly its meds, liquid eggs, and wine that bother her. The odd thing here and here will cause her jaw to go numb. She almost died about 15 yrs ago because she didnt know and the drugs they had her on just kept making her sicker. I would see if you can get a list of names…

Thrift stores in Canada are insanely overpriced compared to the States. And its not as common to see things in perfect condition. That said, I found a pair of Lululemon capris yoga pants for $15. Very gently worn. They retail for $90 or more. I sew, so I got about $150 worth of fabric for $23 once. Someone's grandma must…

Look into magnesium and potassium deficiency and then talk to your doc. On my current diet I am only eating half the recommended amount or magnesium I need and it has been causing me to lose my appetite. Im taking a multivitamin now and it has made a difference. Eating enough is important!!! PS. I added a serving of…

Are you trying to gain fat or muscle? Its not just about eating a certain number of calories. Gaining muscle requires increased protein, usually 1g of protein per pound which means at your current weight you daily portein macro should be at least 97 per day. Protein also brings with it calories so that will help you reach…

I did that a few days ago. Calculated my actual deficit compared to predicted deficit by calories in my diary. I only had 3 weeks of data but MFP was off by 300 cals per day. I should be eating more than I am to support only 1lbs per week loss. At my current exercise level, 5-6 days a week, my TDEE is around 2600. I am…

What??!?!?! That would put me from obese to morbidly obese. Ouch! :noway: Kicker is that my body fat % has me at the top end of healthy/acceptable, not overweight.

My calorie number is pretty high so I survive the holidays. If I overdo it I rarely see a gain because I am eating the deficit and no more than that amount. If your calorie goal is really low, it might help to give yourself an extra 200-300 calories right off the bat. Depending on your stats it shouldnt really destroy your…

Im not diagnosised with celiac disease, but I have gotten a nose bleed after helping my mom make bread and pies for Thanksgiving, so yeah, I tend to be careful about cross contamination but I do live in a mixed household. I have some immediate gluten reactions, but some can take up to a week to show up. Ive been…

Your diary isn't open so I cant actually see what you are eating to get 50% fat. No, 50% fat isnt healthy. Mine is around 30%. Some days I go over but usually those days include some kind of processed or fried food. Fat is important to the diet but It largely depends on where you are getting those fats. Are you eating…

Height is really the only serious deal breaker for me. I need a guy who is taller and bigger than me. The same height is fine but then he needs to be solid, muscular or bulky. I am not a petite 5'8" and I have learned over the years that feeling femenine next to the person I am with is important to me. Standing next to a…

Are you measuring your food intake? Because a lot of people are actually undereating. Your actual daily goal is good. Try dividing your calories better throughout your day. Coffee for breakfast is not ideal. You want to wake up that metabolism in the morning. I eat a fried egg- not many calories but good protein source. I…
