Hal Higdon has programs for each skill level, and distance. I have very successfully improved on my times and accomplished my goals following his online programs. Check it out...if someone follows the program, there is no way they dont improve! enjoy.

I agree that there is a "break in period" BUT, your arches should not hurt after 1 or 10 runs. Your feet are one of the most sensitive parts of the body and they are telling you to take the shoes back.....

Congratulations! I think that's great! It looks like you set a goal for yourself and accomplished it. Way to go! Set another, and guess what? You'll accomplish that one too! Good Job! Go for it...

"ditto the intervals"....Set aside 30 minutes 5 times a week. Walk for 3 minutes, then jog for as much as 30 seconds. Then repeat until 30 minutes is over. This is a great way to start. Gradually increase the jogging time and decrease the walking. Before you know it, you are jogging without the walking :) Good luck!

Now I just completed my first 8k and finished in just over 8 minute miles! So, keep going. You sound mentally strong....you can achieve whatever you wish to!!…

I transitioned off the elliptical and into running full time by doing less elliptical and a little more running until I was just done with the elliptical. A lot of my friends have gotten back into running again by doing very short run/ walk combination, like run for 30 seconds or a minute and then walk for 2-3 minutes etc.…

Congratulations! You HAVE to feel good about your progress! Way to go! For the record, I totally understand any frustration with the scale. The reason I am offering to share a little is because I didn't see the changes I was looking for until I changed a couple of things in my diet. I am down from 220 to a constant…

I have been logging on for a little over two months straight. I make it a ritual not because I enjoy it, but rather because it's the only way I can accomplish my goal and be happy. I have to log in. Before meals I will look at the web site to see how many more calories I have for the day and account properly. In addition,…
