If you want to lose weight you have to eat less; likely one of your runs will, at most, burn a burger. I'm doing a lot less running (although I walk 50 km a week) but making constant weight loss because of the focus on food.

A glass of red wine (preferably a good Shiraz), small piece of cake, chocolate...

I guess most people in this forum do not have the physique of a Navy Seal and are (BMI or not), how to put it politely, fat.

Mine is open. Just in case, I'm not looking for comments and don't comment on other people's diaries either.

You're most like someone from Maldives. Like that.

0. I rely on my diet.

I think they look insanely tacky in older women.

Take your own lunch to the restaurant. In many places they don't bother if only one person in a group is not ordering and munching something else.

Also measure yourself and check if you are getting smaller, not only lighter.

I think what we are doing is a diet; in some cases, it's also much broader to become a lifestyle change. I don't feel ashamed to call it a diet as a shorthand of giving a much longer explanation and don't give much power to the word. By the way, cool hair colors.

Question: What does trigger this? Do you really miss that food or are there other pressures so you start sabotaging yourself? By the way, I think BrainyBurro's (I love that name) explanation is the way to go for you on terms of food.

I'd like to be able to search only within things I've selected before. Some times I find something that I won't eat again for, say, a month so it disappears from my recent foods list.

Metric too. What I've been doing is searching in the USDA data base: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list and adding them to My Foods, so I can keep on using them quickly later.

Calorie restriction, 15-20% less than my previous consumption. I don't exclude any particular food, but I have smaller portions. However, I am eating more fruits and veggies than before because they are more filling for their energy content (compared to, say, some carbs). I have reduced alcohol consumption—although I was…

Interesting that when one reads the article to check the sample under study is: who live in Underserved Rural Settings in the US, which makes me wonder how much could I (46 yo male, BMI 25.4) rely on the results.

I buy the odd organic product just because I like the taste, not because it's organic. There is no substantial nutritional difference between organic and not, both products contain chemicals (in the same that everything is made out of chemicals) and, under most countries' regulations, both types may contain natural and…

I have become very choosy with alcohol. I have the occasional (read < once a week) beer or glass of red wine BUT I have a very nice one (from a microbrewery near home or Aussie wine).

It has happened to me only once. I took it back to he counter, they were apologetic and offer me any other meal for free.

The source, read the source Luke: http://www.biomedcentral.com/content/pdf/1471-2458-13-966.pdf and So I'd say that fatties think they exercise more than they do and feel entitled to it more to compensate for the exercise. House chores are still exercise but you have to count them properly.

Actually at least in McDonalds ad Subway you can find low calories, decent and cheap meals (in New Zealand). The information is out there to be used, so rather than going for a blanket (and wrong) statement people should take the time to read.

The expectation is that McDonald's food is highly standardized, but as the previous poster pointed out you can get a fairly healthy salad in New Zealand. http://mcdonalds.co.nz/sites/mcdonalds.co.nz/files/images/Nutrition-information-NZ-2-Sept-2013.pdf The Grilled Chicken Salad is 122 calories and the dressings vary…

Fantastic reply. I was going to put designed in air quotes and point out that there is no scientific basis for the paleo diet.

Freshly made scone.

A bunch of large, empty, cardboard boxes. It is dirt cheap, kid will have a blast hiding, building, drawing on them, etc.

Can't stand them; they remind me too much of those cheesy work inspirational posters. Now progress or the being close to achieve a self-imposed milestone really motivates me.

I often use recipes that come with an estimate of the calories or look for something similar in MFP. I figure that there is a lot of approximation, same as with exercise calories and I'm still losing weight, so don't sweat it.

Looking at your diary there are very few fruits and vegetables or other big volume, low energy food. IMO there is also too much fast food, which provides quick taste but not necessarily filling. You could try dropping part of your fast food and replacing it with fruits and vegetables (particularly as snacks) and then…

Discussing about religion is considered divisive in the main forums, but i think the OP is asking for directions to a group, where such discussion would be OK. Point 15: Point 4 of the Community Guidelines state: So, if you know about a group help the OP to find it; if you don't, you should not attack someone for whatever…
