Like you I don't like cooked spinach, I'd rather have it as a salad or thrown into something else I'm making. I've recently started freezing some that I've already chopped so that when I'm ready I can toss it into or on whatever I like. I like to add some to smoothies is why I started freezing it. I feel your pain (literally...lol) I have a walking cast that I sometimes use on my Elliptical and I'll be having surgery in the near future. I would suggest seeing a podiatrist to see if any treatment will lessen your pain during and after working out.

I'd see a doctor since this is an on going problem getting increasingly worse the more you exercise, until then I would rest and avoid the hill. (Like that's an option in SF...lol)
