  • Ok, so I just did my second round of level 3 for the day, after a 5 mile run... My body is NOT going to like me tomorrow. Oh man... I can tell you, L3 definitely gives you a workout.
  • L3 D1 WOOO. Here's my opinion: It's different. In some ways it's easier - there aren't as many purely evil - grin and bear it - muscles screaming in agony moments. IMO level one was leg heavy, level two is arm heavy, and level 3 is core heavy. I LOVED it. I may do it twice today. It's a ton of plyo, a ton of core training,…
  • My thoughts on this may be controversial, but hey, I'll throw them out there any ways. In my opinion, the whole "dinner is the main meal" thing is purely cultural, and has nothing to do with the way our bodies best digest foods. I mean, everyone knows not eating food late at night is better, because our bodies are working…
  • What is your service provider? If you are on verizon, and in an LTE area - go with the thunderbolt. OR, wait a few months for the next wave of LTE phones coming out - including the (rumored) iphone 5. I don't know if you care about the techy details so I won't go into it, but LTE is the only TRUE 4G technology (don't…
  • L2 D10. Bahhhhh level 3 tomorrow. I'm skeeerreeed. By the way, the cardio got easier, but I never was able to do the double jump ropes. Also, I never really gained the requisite shoulder strength for the dumb bell exercises not to KILL!
  • I think I messed up my day counting... pretty sure today is L2 D9 though. Wow. One more day, then level 3. Gonna have to really kill it tomorrow.
  • Wooo, L2 D7, and I finally was able to almost entirely keep up, unmodified! These last few days have been hard for me, both food and exercise wise, what with the end of semester festivities, but I had a fantastic run tonight, and an awesome shred - so I'm definitely feeling re-motivated!!!
  • L2 D6... Darn, I'm going to have to start pushing it harder if I want to be able to completely keep up in 4 days!!! -Amy
  • DATE: (05/13/2011) Week 1: 169 Week 2: 169.4 Week 3: 167.0 Week 4: 165.6 Week 5: 163 GW: 159 (by friday May 27th) (Note, this was the weigh in from yesterday, I went out last night to celebrate graduation, so I'm NOT weighing in today... lol) Assuming I didn't mess myself up last night too much, I still think it's a…
  • It's a DVD. You can download it level by level from amazon though, for super cheap! There are 3 levels, each of which you do for 30 days. You also need 5lb hand weights.
  • D4 Level 2 done... I *think* it's getting easier... I can't really be sure though, b.c I keep pushing harder to do more of it, which just wipes me out more. During level 1, the cardio was pretty much when I could take a break. That is NOT the case this level, especially the last cardio circuit.
  • edit: sry for double post... weird.
  • I started level 1, the first day with no weights, then 3lb weights, then 5lb weights, which I've stuck with for the rest of the time. I couldn't do all of the stuff with the 5lb weights to begin with, but it got easier!
  • My legs were so sore I wanted to cry every time I had to move for the first maybe 5 days. Days 6,7,8 were better, and by the end of level 1, I started to feel it more in my upper body and abs then legs. Level 2 is pretty intense as far as upper body goes too, especially shoulders! (Or maybe that's just where I'm weak?)
  • Thanks everybody!!! To everyone that's thinking of starting, I totally love it, and totally recommended it. It's short enough that I can bring myself to wake up the needed 20 minutes extra every day!!! (By the way, in the interest of full disclosure, I should say that along with the shred, I've been keeping up with my…
  • if you have access to a pool, I think swimming is the best thing ever if you need low impact exercise. I started at 207, and lost about the first 30 lbs before I really started doing any exercise more than walking. Now I workout, and I find the pain and injuries that used to REALLY bother me at a higher weight are a lot…
  • Heck YES! Every exercise you do helps to burn fat! As you get going, you may feel ready to start incorporating little burts of jogging into your walk... Also, if you have 30 minutes free in the morning, I HIGHLY suggest checking out Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. Its only 20 minutes, and it's a great workout to get your…
  • Da**, Just finished D3 L2... That was definitely the hardest workout yet. I tried something a little different this time, I ate breakfast when I first woke up, then waited about an hour to do the shred. I definitely felt like I had more energy! I went into it determined to keep up with the cardio, and I did right up until…
  • I'm 5'6", and 163 lbs. I wear about a size 10, yes. I'm planning on loosing another 40lbs though... Here is a picture of me right now! (I've been taking ab pictures every day as I do the 30 day shred, so I can do a time lapse) Note, My boobs are DD+, and my butt is pretty proportionate, so I tend to carry my weight in a…
  • I think there is some difference between social stigmas attached to male and female weight loss. If you tell a guy he looks slim and great - even if he hasn't *actually* lost weight, he probably won't be offended. (According to stereotypes) It gets more complicated with women. Say you see a friend, and she looks like she's…
  • I know what you mean about level 2!!! I'ma try my 3rd day of it today, and hopefully I can actually keep up better. My plank is fine, but I have NONE of the shoulder strength required for the dumbell stuff!
  • Half way through? You someplace with a quarter system? A UC? :-) I took DiffEQ, Discrete Math, ASL, Analogue Circuits, Intro to Dramatic Arts... Still taking finals! Hopefully I should get A's in everything though. Got an A+ and a TA offer from circuits, so that's cool. I'm really proud of myself for sticking with my…
  • D2 L2...I think I'm getting a little bit more the hang of the twisty stuff... lol
  • Yah, that was me that asked about the pushups. I just did my first morning of level 2, and surprisingly, the walkout pushups I actually found easier than just the straight pushups. That was the only thing that was easier though, holy balls. If I can totally keep up with that in 10 days, I'll be impressed! I think I lack to…
  • Level 1 day 10 done! That means starting level 2 tomorrow... I'm nervous! (And, I still can't do all the pushups...)
  • how do you feel about exercise DVD's. I've heard (and seen) good things about "6 week 6 pack". One thing I do, is I take a picture of my abs every morning in the same light... with just sports bra and shorts. After a month or two, I'm going to make a time lapse and see if I can see the difference!
  • Strange mixture of both! I had the exact same experience as you recently. I've lost about 45 lbs, and I decided to wander into the little jrs boutique store next to my Vons, and see if I could fit into any of their clothes! Well, amazingly, I could, but I just felt so fat a poofy next to all the little perfect california…
  • Man, 1 Week of finals, then 2 weeks of lethargy, and then the travelling begins! I'm considering spending those two weeks off being anything but lethargic - I'm trying to figure out a way to get hours of exercise every day in preparation for my upcoming trip! The only thing I'm not sure about, is - is it a good idea to get…
  • Wow! That sounds like an amazing summer! I'm so jealous! I definitely know what you mean about not wanting to ruin the summer - but also not wanting to kill all the progress you've made. We can do it!!! This will be a great exercise in moderation for all of us.
