I'm 5'1 as well! My weight has run the gamut from 156 down to 115 in my adult life. Currently at 137 and looking to get (and stay, comfortably) between 120 and 125. I understand exactly what you're going through!!

Very nicely put. As a vegetarian, I get the "why not just eat meat?" thing a lot, and it never gets any less disrespectful or obnoxious. I give the benefit of the doubt as much as I can, but sometimes you're just like "Really?". I hate being expected to constantly explain my dietary decisions to someone else. Why not just…

LOL, oddly enough I'd love to be the 118 I was in 2007! Baby steps though, right? Your dog is to-die-for cute, by the way!!!

Thanks! So far, so good! I hope you've had the same experience! One thing I've learned very quickly is to weed through a lot of the sarcasm and mean-spiritedness that I've seen a lot of (under the guise of "trying to help"). Once I got that through my head, I started to enjoy it here a lot more and have met a lot of nice…

Amazing job!!!!

YES. Thank you. I think I have yet to read a thread on this site that doesn't have at least one person (usually more) telling someone else why they are completely wrong, why their idea or method is stupid, or why something else would work SOOO much better. For every nice person with helpful information to contribute,…

I really like this answer. Very simple way of figuring it out for those that are unsure!

I haven't been on this board very long, but I think I have yet to read a thread where there isn't at least one person who is outraged/bored/offended or downright elitist about the question or topic being discussed. The term "The only stupid question is the one you don't ask" doesn't seem to exist here! That aside, I'm a…

Slightly off topic, but I just adopted two chihuahuas last month (brothers from the same litter) and while they LOVE running and being in the backyard and going to dog parks, they do NOT do well on the leash! One of them just doesn't walk at all. No matter what, he just sits and stares like "Get this off". The other is…

I LOVE them! The Southwestern Corn is delicious. It doesn't have sauce. It's a mix of peppers in with it that makes it "Southwestern".

Setting aside the TDEE and BMI (for just a second, don't worry, everyone!), 7lbs in 3 weeks doesn't sound like a worrisome amount to me? I don't mean that to say it's "not enough" - it's amazing progress! But I don't think I would be concerned about it being too rapid, particularly since it's just the beginning, and often…

I don't have any recipes, unfortunately, but I just wanted to pop on and show some solidarity because I, too, HATE Tofu. I've been a vegetarian for 9 years and and have given it a fair shot numerous times, and I can't get past the feeling that it's like eating pieces of flip flop. Not cool. That being said, silken tofu,…

I'm with the majority here! #2 for the win!! Also love #5, but definitely save that for when you feel comfortable! Don't suffer through Spanx all night!

Probably not, but she could be my bestie! :-)

Yes! We think they are Chihuahua Jack Russell mixes, but that's just our best guess! Chihuahuas named Oliver for the win! :-)

Dance our booties off.

Puppy - 10!

I used to swear by the workouts on Netflix, but around this time last year they took them down (Boo! Hiss!) Thankfully I still had them in my queue (even though they wouldn't play) so I was able to get the names of my faves and find them on DVD on Amazing for less than $5 each. I really liked the Crunch gym workouts and…

I couldn't agree more about adopting! After losing our beloved Jack Russell terrier in June (after nearly 16 years with him) we decided to adopt about a month ago. The dog we chose was a puppy who was found in a ditch in the side of the road with all of his brothers and sisters in Alabama. His name is Oliver (Ollie) and he…

I just saw this online yesterday and it went on my "must get" list!

What.... I just... but...

Agreed 100% on this. It's a one way trip to Soggytown. Raw onion, however, is my jam. I haven't had tuna in a long time (I'm vegetarian) but when I did, I was all about the onion. Some might have even made the ubiquitous "you want some tuna with your onion" joke if they saw me.

That answers my question perfectly. Thank you.

I get mine at Trader Joe's. I think it's $5.99 a jar. Not sure how that compares with other places?

My statement said I used coconut oil as an example because I read somewhere that it promoted fat loss (meaning it might combat the extra calories a bit more than something like peanut butter, which is also "good for you" but is NOT known to promote fat loss). Just a comment made in passing, trying to make my example…

Not to sidetrack the post or speak out of turn, but I have to say, some of the negativity and snarky responses on these boards are really discouraging sometimes. Maybe I'm just not "tough" enough, but it seems for every nice person that has good advice to offer, there is someone who just wants to shoot you down and tell…

This is incredibly inspiring!! Go you!

This made me laugh. :-) I love coconut oil! I cook with it and put it in my smoothies/protein shakes as well. Also, a friend of mine writes a health and wellness blog and did this post, called "50 Uses for Coconut Oil". http://thegrassskirtblog.com/2013/02/19/50-uses-for-coconut-oil/ I kind of want to try to see how many I…
