With all due respect, I think it is posts like this that send the absolute wrong message regarding finding a successful way to both lose the weight and keep it off. The way MFP works is not to deprive yourself of what you love - but rather balance it. Learn portions and become more aware and accountable about what you are…

"Normal stuff" is different depending on the culture and country in which houses it. Take a moment and consider North American customs, traditions, etc from the point of view of someone from East Africa or Prague. My recommendation would be don't fall into the habit of easily applying a 'American' or 'North American' view…

I can understand why that might be a bit surprising to walk in on. In North American society, nakedness, especially in semi-public areas has been pretty heavily stigmatized. But, if you ever travel to other parts of the world I think you'd be surprised at the variety of traditional and cultural habits as well how nudity is…

Other than work that is my only exercise, I do around a little less than an hour a day. Seems to be working awesome so far.

Today was my next weekly weigh-in since I posted this topic, and I dropped only one pound this week. A bit dissapointed, but not discouraged. The body is a strange thing.

A big mug of coffee, which is about 5-7 cal. And 3 tsp of sugar and 3 tsp of cream. It gets me up and moving on a work day! (Averages to 74 CAL TOTAL.)
-
I always leave enough cal in the evening for treats. I think that might be the secret. It works for me at least.

This was very touching. I read your post before I scrolled down to the pictures and I could literally feel your dread. Dread at doing the simplest of things. And that really got to me. What an amazing accomplishment! It must have taken a lot of determination, awesome job! PS: There was totally a tiger hidden under those…

I have been taking measurements. Neck, waist, thighs, upper arms, hips. But good point about the pictures. I have been dragging my feet a bit in regards to that.

Thank you for everyone's advice and comments. I weighed myself (unofficially) this morning and was still at 248. So it looks like the scale wasn't possessed after all!
-
I find it is far more accurate than MFP's calculations. And generally, it is what I use.
-
This is probably not what you want to hear, but MFP's accuracy on the exercise portion of the site is REALLY off. Try the free app, Endomondo if you have a smart phone. I clip my phone to my waist when I go walking and have the app running. Then compare your cal count from mfp to Endomondo and I promise you will be amazed.

The heat can definitely do that. But then again so can a lack of food, at least for me. Are you drinking water during the day? Especially during the heat? Did you take water with your on your walk?

caseyfairbair, Thank you for the explanation! Too bad you can't lose all the weight THIS fast, eh? Ha!
-
idugganbos, Interesting. Now that I think about it, what exactly IS water weight? Out of curiosity, are you set on a two pound loss per week or a one pound loss? Or does it matter when you get to the point where you are at? Congrats on your loss! That's awesome!

khadijak17, Good idea, I will keep that in mind for next week. I am sure that will be a good judge of what is happening. Thank you for your input. I guess I kinda got off the scale this morning a little shell-shocked. (Not that I am complaining mind you. Totally did a happy prance.)

Clubbing.

That just sounds all sorts of unhealthy and unsustainable.

I spent a year in a hobbit hole doing my masters and packed on way more pounds than I was happy with. I was completely sedentary save for walking to and from the bus and subway and did a lot of 'comfort' eating. Massive 80 page paper to write? Reward finishing it with ice cream! When I finished my masters and went back to…

Could be an immune system issue. I used to get the same thing happen to me. Get a blood test, go to an allergist, and get medicine. Good luck!
