I have known a couple of marathoners and one was 60+ years old. He told me "If you want to do it, you can". At the time, I laughed at him and said, I can't run. The next summer I was roped into co-leading a C25K group at work and was slower than all of the participants. I endured and after the program, ran my first 5k. 5…

I have been doing this for over a year and when I started it was a pretty daunting task. MFP makes things easy though by giving options to save recipes, save meals, copy meals, scan barcodes, etc. Everytime I think of quitting, I log something else, so I have a feeling I will be here for a while. I do think, however, that…

There was a Spong Bob episode about earworms and the song was "Musical Doodle". It was bad, but last weekend my son created his own earworm after watching the "Abrasive Side" episode. He was singing it over and over in the car until I asked him to stop.

I agree with freezing them, but if you don't have room in the freezer, you can also dehydrate and store them for use later in soups, stews etc.

I heard that each size is approximately 2 inches different, but definately ask!

June 13, 2015 for me. I am hoping to reach my goal (another 25 pounds gone) by the end of this summer and fit into the dress I bought in February. The dress was a bit tight when I purchased it, so I know I have a couple of inches to lose, but I am also working on upper body strengthening so my arms and shoulders look great…

Wow. I have always thought I had big calves, but never measured until now! 17.5 on both. I have found that being more active and losing the 25 pounds that I have, it is easier to fit into boots, but I will never do skinny jeans.

I would like to consider myself a runner. I am thinking of doing a 10k later this summer. Add me if you want!

1. I was taken of of cholesterol meds. 2. I have dropped 3 pant sizes. 3. I am more confident and outgoing.

I have found that it is a stuggle some days, but after losing around 25 pounds on MFP already, I know it can be done. I have seen a lot of success stories in my time on MFP and hope to someday join the club. My advice is to make changes gradually so that you know you can maintain them in the future and make sure you are…

A couple of my favorites are Evenesence and Gwen Stefani. I am new to Pandora this week and will be checking out some of the channels listed here. Thanks!

My first and best was 36:30 after 4 months of C25K training. Don't worry about your time, just maintain a comfortable pace and let the crowd take you. It is incredibly addicting, so have fun!

I've been here since the end of August 2013 and log every day, but I am trying to snap out of the winter blah's and could use more friends. Add me!

It sounds like you are on the right track, just keep it up! As you work those muscles they will hurt, but they will eventually thank you for it. Friend me if you would like, I am here every day.

Cucumbers are a simple one for me, but you can put almost any vegetable or fruit in the oven or dehydrator to make something crunchy or dip-able. Search for sweet potato chips, kale chips, etc and you will get a huge selection of recipes to try.

After having a fitbit for a while and asking myself the same questions, I broke down and also purchased a heart rate monitor. I use it specifically for workouts and use fitbit for steps. Of course with anything new there is a lot of learning and adjusting, so determine what works best for you.

I am also a bride to be with a "to be determined" 2015 date. I have been logging in for 165 days and am over halfway to the goal I set before knowing I was going to be a bride. I also have a desk job and share custody of a 5 year old, so meal planning and prep are key. Add me if you would like!

I've been here 145 days today and don't plan on quitting. I am down 24 pounds already with another 24 or so to go. I also have a fitbit and could use more motivation.

I have the Leslie Sansone "Walk it off in 30 Days" DVD. IT has both a 30 minute cardio session and a 30 minute free weight session. All you need are 2 free weights in whatever weight you are comfortable with.

I have seen the show a few times and agree that the losses on a weekly basis are completely unrealistic. I had a chance to meet with a former contestant and she said flat out that there is no follow up after the show and that there are behind the scene games that are played such as drinking a few gallons of water just…

There are numerous C25K training plans. I know that the one I started with years ago started in much smaller increments. If you can make it through the 1 minute intervals to start with, GREAT JOB! If not, look for another training plan that isn't as intense at the begining.

I know exactly what you mean! Add me too!

I always find that the "fun" runs are the best because it is out of the ordinary. I have done mud runs twice and am doing a SuperHero Dash in October. If you do decide on an ordinary 5k, music, cheering sections, volunteers, and excellent organization all seem to make the time go faster and the run more enjoyable.

It seems you have reached the point that many of us here on MFP have reached where it is no longer about fast losses, but about finding the healthy way to lose. Congratulations! I have been on this site for a little over a month and am finding it to be more of a habit than a desire to count my calories. I thought about…

I guess I was considered one of the "nerds", being quiet and introverted. I lettered in choir, was in freshman debate, and hated gym. I knew people from every group and would intermingle as needed, but mostly stuck to myself. I went on to college for my junior and senior years, though, and didn't really care what people…

Hello! I am on day 10 and the information and people here have helped me already! Stick with your plan and you will see results. Anyone can feel free to add me as a friend, I need as much help as I can get on this adventure!

Cross the finish line and have fun! Warning: 5k's can be addicting.

I have done a number of 5k's, most recently a mud run as you can see from my pic, and when it comes to "fun" walk/runs, there is rarely a time limit. I would say check your registration information or contact the 5k coordinators to get the best answer.
