Sorry, you asked about calories. As for calories I switched mine to maintenance plus the 300 cal pregnancy boost for the 2nd and 3rd trimester - However, I try to focus more on listening to my body than counting calories per se, so I log about 2, maybe 3, times per week!

This is probably an older thread but I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents worth anyway. There are different suggested weight gains for different BMI ranges. For example, those who are underweight (less than BMI of 18.5) are suggested to gain 28 - 40 lb, normal weight (BMI 18.5 - 24.9) to gain 25 - 35 lb, overweight (BMI 25 -…

aw thanks!! I guess I was just over-thinking the fact that I always read "expect to gain 25 - 35 lbs if you are in your healthy weight BMI range" and my doc literally told me "gain no more than 25 lbs." I have a hard time getting past worrying that I won't be getting enough of what baby needs if I don't gain more. No idea…

I make sure I eat A FRUIT with breakfast - and with my morning snack (along with a protein) and with my afternoon snack (along with a protein)... oh, and as a dessert/snack after supper. I'm at my maintenance weight now. I would DIE without fruit.

straight up, if you're not eating enough your metabolism will be CRAP. Especially if you are hypothyroid, you need to make sure you are getting at least 1200 calories (net) and spread them out throughout the day. Eat 5 - 6 (or even 4) smaller, balanced meals throughout the day. Your body needs all the nutrients it can get.…

Even if eating smaller meals more often doesn't boost the metabolism (however, I believe it does) - even for non diabetics - it will still keep your blood sugar steady which helps eliminate cravings and boosts your energy levels.

Are you eating enough whole grains? Brown rice, multigrain/whole wheat bread, ect.? Those would be a better, more nutritious option than chips.
