I like a lot of these songs but they don't all inspire dancing (for me anyhow) The best ones IMO are: What I Like About You* – The Romantics (GREAT) Keep Your Hands to Yourself – Georgia Satellites Dancing with Myself *– Billy Idol (Good for pogoing) Come On Eileen* – Dexy’s Midnight Runners

She Drives me Crazy: by the Fine Young Cannibals
-
That was by "Frankie Goes to Hollywood", not Zappa, unless there's also a Zappa song by that name.
-
The Alarm: "68 Guns", "Rain in the Summertime", "Rescue Me"

Big Country: In a Big Country, Look Away and a zillion more on their ever-so-awesome albums. ANother severely underrated band.

Yay! also by the Hooters: Day by Day, Satellite... etc. A severely underrated band.

Actually that was 1976-- my freshman year of college - Boston and/or Kansas was screaming from every dorm room window. (Boston is awesome but sooo overplayed, even today.)

Like everyone says-- Just ask an employee to show and demonstrate the machines. I don't know about Planet Fitness, but at most places that's their JOB. So make them do their job. Tell them you want to learn a series of 8 or 10 machines that will work all the major muscle groups. (Most places have a "line" of machines for…

I just looked at your food diary. Your breakfasts are all starch and sugar-based. God no, girl-- not if you have sugar problems. Starting the day with a sugar spike will mess up your entire day-- at least it does mine. Instead try a protein shake (I like Spirutein with plain yogurt and maybe a little fruit or honey) . Or…

If you go high protein and low carb, your blood sugar will stay steadier and you won't have the blood sugar spikes and crashes-- the crashes cause the light-headedness and spacey feelings. A lot of people, myself included, are somewhat "insulin resistant", meaning your body puts out too much insulin when it sees some sugar…

"Dark and Stormy": Ginger beer with black rum. (not just dark rum, black rum. You can use ginger ALE in a pinch but it's better with ginger Beer.)

I'm 5'2 and, like you, never went much over 100 lbs until I was 17 or 18. Most of my 20's I hovered between 98 and 105-- I worked out with weights and had some awesome muscles. So it wasn't skin and bones. After about 35 I used to run between 105 and 115lbs. Then I got up into the 120's a while back-- finally up into the…

This works well for me, because it's low-carb and therefore keeps me from getting hungry for several hours. Sugar hates me. Here 'tis: 1 scoop Spirutein unsweetened vanilla protein powder ( I LOVE this stuff!) 1/2 cup plain unsweetened yogurt 1/2 cup water 4 ice cubes Vary the amount of water if you want it thinner or…

woo hoo! Those abs, those pecs, those guns... how to choose??

$21 per month, but no pool or jacuzzi. :indifferent:

Daily. It keeps me from going into denial. I gained 8 lbs recently when my scale was broken and I hadn't gotten around to buying a new one.

Muscular is good.

Sure, it would be your accurate weight after a night of dehydration. What is more important is CONSISTENCY. Personally, I always weigh first thing in the morning, after using the loo, and nekkid. I feel like this gives me the most consistent picture of my weight. So what if I'll weigh 2 lbs more after lunch ? As long as I…

"Burn, baby, burn..." If I was a flame baiter and started this I'd be SOOO happy. :smokin:

I don't care if it's flame baiting. I'm an asbestos balloon.

I wonder about this myself. I am sure it is not wise to "starve" oneself, but to have this one-size-fits-all number of 1200 calories is illogical. Everyone is different-- different sizes, different ages, different activity levels, different genders- there's no way everyone can have the same "safe" lower limit. As to why…

I had a C-section too-- the only stretch marks I have are around the incision scar--I bet the Dr. stretched the skin when he took the baby out. He should have made a bigger incision! (it was a big baby). Anyway there's a little pocket of stretched, flabby skin around the scar which I never could lose, even when I once got…

"Perfect weight" is best defined by body fat percentage. See the chart at: http://www.builtlean.com/2010/08/03/ideal-body-fat-percentage-chart/ I'm 5'2, 126 lbs, and over 30% body fat despite having considerable muscle. But then I'm also very small-boned. You must either have big bones, or body-builder-worthy muscles if…

ooh yep (I'm sure *I* will be enormously popular. )

Good drugs. Specifically, Lexapro and Wellbutrin. I refused to use drugs for nearly 20 years- wish I hadn't.. Counseling, exercise, good diet, meditation, herbs, vitamins.... all that helped keep my head above water, but barely. Drugs are awesome. Unfortunately I think the Lexapro makes it harder to maintain my weight. But…

I end up hungry all day if I eat a lot of carbs first thing. The only thing that works for me is to eat a no-carb breakfast (typically a hard-boiled egg, or some leftover meat), then a small snack (like an apple or something) at mid-morning. If I do that I can get through the rest of the day OK. Eating 5 or 6 meals a day…
