I recommend First Landing State Park if you haven't found it yet. 20 some miles of trails. Off of shore dr between Great Neck and the ocean front. The Shamrock here in VB is probably the best 1st half marathon to do. It is pancake flat and well supported. The weather starts out a little chilly, usually mid to low 40s, and warms up to low 50s by the time it's over. Did 1000 meters of freestlye in the pool at lunch for 21:15. Had a Rueben and fries for lunch then ran 5 miles of trails at the state park. I would reccomend a rueben then running.

Growing up in Michigan on dirt roads that only turn to ice when they were plowed I found Yaktrax a waste of money. Go to the hardwear store and get short hex head sheet metal screws. If you can find the ones that have the screw driver slot across the top those are the best. More friction area.…

Living on a ship my treadmill was 300 feet from my rack (bed). I woke up early before my watch to get my run in. The ship was mostly dark. As one person already stated that you've already ran the distance. A two week taper is standard, so running your last long run 10 days prior to the race is par. Get your runs in when you can. Nothing hard at all.
