  • East Coast Trail and Ultra! NSFW. But great! I never can go a podcast without laughing my *kitten* off. Run Bum js a great RD as well.
  • Current Profile. For sure!
  • I've done it a couple times. Not a bad race, too crowded for my likings. COS: Don't try to do packet pickup in a car, take the train. Plan on standing around for a couple hours before the race in the cold. Going to have to walk from the train station to a staging area then to the start line in the morning. PROS: Plenty of…
  • Why would you be upset? this guy is being honest. Isnt that what you would want if you're starting a relationship? If i asked a female to be able to keep up with me i know i would be asking for a lot. Most 5ks i would win most of the female divisions. Lets be honest that females who win their races runnin are usually of a…
  • Preperation-H and Cyran wrap will take 2" off your stomach. I've know people who've done it for years in the military prior to their weigh-ins. Works great for short period contracting the skin. However i doubt it's good for ya.
  • Just completed my 100% give everything half marathon on 18-March and set a PR. It was the Shamrock Half in Virginia Beach. Spartyka Wounded Warrior 5K on 25-March at the Ocean front again. 2-June Northface Endurance Challange in D.C. (Great Trail Race) 25-August The North Country Run in the Manistee National Forest in…
  • "is" as in "it is what it is" I call that an excuse and lack of responsibility.
  • Rowing. Not the crossfit get on for 2 minutes and get off either. Go at a medium setting and a controlled effort pacing yourself for a 5k meters. youtube some rowing videos so you don't hurt yourself. Biking, swimming, and ellipticals are fine options too.
  • If I used them for every 6-10 mile run I would go broke, so yes, just runs over 10 miles. I'm one of the strange ones, I don't hydrate unless it's over a half marathon. But when I do I use an amphipod 20oz bottle and alternate shockblocks with GU Brew razzberry. *Disclaimer* It's what works for me. I've done a couple…
  • I didn't read all 15 pages so maybe some repeats, but here's mine. Gilmore Girls Lady Gaga Vibram Shoes and the cross fit nation. ( croosfit is good for some people, but not this guy, hence the loathe list) I'm sure next season of biggest loser will have them.
  • Every 3 to 4 miles I take in something. I like the taste and constancy of PowerBar vanilla gels. Tastes like sugar cookies to me. I Also prefer ShotBlocks. 6 per pack, take 2 per 3 to 4 miles. Mountain berry, black cherry, and cranrazzberry are nummy. Any time I go out for more than 10 I use them.
  • Eat pasta run fasta! Go to bed!
  • As soon as I saw my engagement pics in '04. I noticed i was looking like "Fat Chandler (friends reference)." Had to do something about it. I thought 15 minutes was an accomplishment then and never would dream of a 5k. I was not really out of shape either, just not a runner.
  • I notice the blues the week after the race. I attribute it to Delayed On Set of muscle soreness, not working out for a couple days, and just plain fatigue. Wife just calls me grumpy.
  • Switzerland, telemarking the Haute Route. Always have wanted to do that.
  • Dazed and Confused! And how can anyone say a New Hope over Empire Strikes back? Come on people!
  • Read these posts... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/356088-most-embarrassing-gym-moment People are laughing at themselves, and a lot are funny. If I would have been watching some of these I would have laughed too. As some posters on this topic that have been singled out and laughed at, that is just wrong.
  • There was a large hole in my foot from an M16, now it's just scar tissue. I love pretzel M&Ms
  • Just because someone runs a marathon I wouldn't call him/her a professional. Two different types of muscles for fast 5k and a normal Marathon runner. My PR 5k is 19:59 last spring. I did an easy 3 miler last night at 21:59. It was the first time I had ran on pavement (off trail) and that short of a distance for a bit.
  • The last 3 Years I have hit just over 1,100. This year I want to Increase it a little more, 1250 sounds good. If i'm in the U.S. and not deployed I will be doing a trail 50k just before Christams. Plenty of Halfs trail and road, with some 20,25,30ks sprinkled in while it's still cool this winter.
  • I have a bad habit of "fart stalking". Please let me explain. Not every time, but a lot, when I see a hottie bend over in over in the gym I make fart noises in my head. Sometimes on the trail running when I'm coming up behind them. I just wish the high school girls would wear more than sports bras. I'm getting a little old…
  • Tammy, I'd be the first person to encourage someone to sign-up for most anything. I started running 5 years ago by trying to run for 15 then 20 minutes non-stop I'm up to 50ks for 5.5hrs. Please let me caution you with a few words.... You stated that you can only do about a minute on the treadmill, which, if you're running…
  • I was going to call "Dibs!" but there is too many of you and some dudes. Damn't.
  • AZTrailRunner said it well, but I would add in that June is a bit away. I would get a solid base on the bike. 23miles really isn't that far but it will be the majority of the race's overall time. C25k is a great start and throw in some bike. Road biking is the best prep, but a spin bike will do. Good Luck Brent
  • I don't think I mind Crossfit as much as I mind the people who Crossfit. With that said, if someone is doing something that benefits their body I'm not going to bash them. But why do 90% of Crossfitters wear calf tights? I would understand the recovery factor if it were an endurance sport. I live in the largest military…
  • A Woman who constantly interrupts and changes the subject when I'm talking. Like my 2 cents doesn't matter.
  • Then why do so many women hit on men with wedding rings? Off subject I know. Just saying livin with Mother(-in-law) isn't always a bad thing.
  • What if it's moved in with mother-in-law so she can keep a house?
