suspicious spam thread title leads to suspicions that thread is just a spamvert for dodgy product

Lifting heavy = whatever is heavy for you, not what is heavy for other people keep it going op

Close to goal, I would look less at the scale and more at the mirror. For many , as soon as they get to the desired weight, they stop and bounce 5lb up However , I am not sure that you can really lose your 5lb without some muscle loss in much the same way as gaining fat when bulking. The slow recomp approach or bulking /…

Today you were over your calories ? So if every day was like today.... you wouldn't be in a deficit. Ignoring the message seems best

I walk loads , makes me feel better in myself as well as helping with physical health too definitely good for you , but don't be afraid of resistance training. That is very good for you too
-
Yep weigh it for accuracy
-
yeah mine comes with one in the bag but I'd suggest using a teaspoon or similar until you find it if you don't want to go digging
-
Yep same here , was easier than anticipated after 30 years. I also feared piling on the pounds but as I had already been here sorting diet and such it wasn't a problem edit for spelling :/

I do a lot of walking, 158lb 46 year old male , I allow myself 50 cals per mile and I usually walk at slightly above or below 4 mph So , an hour of exercise 200 cals , not including the 90 or so I would have burned sitting around doing nothing
-
I do a lot of walking and quite a lot of it isn't flat . I allow myself 50 cals per mile , my pace is pretty much always between 3-4 mph. I am sure I was burning more previously when I was out of shape but now I am very used to it A lot of the calculations people use are bogus and many are for 300lb people who are out of…

Just break up

a calorie deficit is all that is needed to lose weight. Protein shakes are for helping you reach your protein goals , they don't work magic
-
I would suggest trying it. Don't be scared by the terminology, heavy is relative as the others have pointed out. If you don't see results or start to enjoy it by the time you need to increase the weights, you won't have really done any harm. You won't start looking butch so don't worry about that if it's bothering you

low cal and zero gives me a bit of a headache, so I drink normal coke instead

I'd hazard a guess that neither of you understand what a LDR takes and while I won't condone his reaction , the main thing he will be worrying about is what is happening back at home. So, in his mind you are playing on his insecurities and he is having a bad reaction to this as he doesn't have the maturity to deal with it…

mapmywalk works fine for me , but I now use the web based version and map the walks / times out myself and reduce the calories it says I burn as they seemed high
-
I like real food and don't really want to start on the bottom rung of some marketing campaign If you have truly been struggling, I'd suggest going back to basics, weighing & logging etc rather than looking for a quick fix. If you have fallen off the wagon, so to speak, go easy on yourself. It's not a race or a diet... it's…

wtf .. ?

For loads of us that is a problem area and you cannot spot reduce fat either. What I have noticed in others, is that the top 4 abs start to show some definition as you shed the weight, the last part will be the lower abs / love handle area This will require a deficit, lowering your over all body fat % No gimmicks, scams or…

Tighten up the logging and I think you will start to see benefits. That means weighing everything that goes into your mouth Estimating calorie burns is very, very hard which is why most will tell you to only eat a % of them back Luckily your wife is also on the health kick with you , so give it a month of really tight…

default set to private for starters , for others it's personal and the last group are those who say they eat clean ( blegh ) and are downright liars if you really wanted to be nosey and check through other peoples diaries.. why not ask them nicely ?

Ignore this nonsense

You can't run from the food all your life, it's going to need you to get the will power and to stop making excuses It's not meant to be harsh, you are always going to be tempted and you need to deal with that and conquer it without running or hiding from it

Great transformation so far, keep it up and you're inspiring others as you go too :)
