  • I accidentally do it because I'm usually not hungry before noon and I don't like to eat much after 9 pm, but I'm never rigid with it. If I am really hungry before then I eat. I just tend to like eating in a smaller window and not eating a 400 calorie breakfast means I have more flexibility in my calorie budget if someone…
  • You're only eating a banana before dinner and exercising to boot and you're wondering why you feel weak and dizzy? Your answer is right there. Eat more. I usually eat around 900 calories by the time dinner arrives. A few months ago it was more like 600 and I was usually shaky and hungry by dinner so I upped it. On heavy…
  • Clearly 1600 isn't enough. If you're meant to be bulking you should be eating over maintenance. Your maintenance is probably at least 1800-1900 with your activity levels, so you're still eating below maintenance. So I'd eat more if I were you. As for the amenorrhea, it could be overexercise. I'm in the same boat--I haven't…
  • Listen to the doctor. At this point your obsession fitness is possibly risking your health instead.
  • According to my fitbit: The 2800 day my TDEE was 3100 (I walked 25k steps). I went out for Thai food for dinner so I might have actually eaten more than 2800, it's a semi-educated guess. The 1900 day one had my TDEE also at 1950 (only walked 5k). So I was more or less following it by listening to my hunger cues.
  • I loosely log but I'm trying to maintain. This last week especially I was eating out, travelling--kept up my exercise but wasn't really trying to control my intake. I do naturally follow IF because I'm usually not hungry before noon and I try not to eat much after 9 pm, but I'm not strict with it. Looking at the last week…
  • Your weight probably went up because what you ate seems like it could have a lot of sodium. I usually go up a few pounds while on holiday but it comes off almost immediately when I get back into my usual routine, meaning it's mostly just water. While away I aim for around 2,500 roughly guesstimated calories, which leaves…
  • I ran my first ever sub 30 minute 5k despite the heat (ok, Scottish levels of heat). Also walked a fair bit. 16k steps in all.
  • The bigger issue here is your disordered eating patterns, not one day at 1400.
  • Like I said in another thread, my original goal weight was 150, but it's just way easier for me to maintain 152-154, so eh. If I knuckled down for a month to six weeks I'd reach it, but happy enough where I am now.
  • I originally wanted to be 150 but it's just a lot easier for me to maintain 153-154. If I eventually move down to it, fine, but I don't mind.
  • Psst...that's not a rest day. It is important to actually rest for optimal muscle growth and recovery. I.E. no weight lifting, maybe just some stretches/yoga and light walking.
  • I am sure that even in my bulimia past, I've never hit 10k a day. I don't think my stomach would be able to hold that amount. When I was recovering from anorexia back in 2006 I was probably eating like 2500-3500 a day because I was very hungry (similar to @Maxematics above), but I was starting from a BMI in the 14s and a…
  • I need more than 2000 to maintain.
  • If you're undereating to this extent, you should see a health professional rather than turning to a message board to help. We can give you general advice but we (mostly) aren't medical professionals. I can say that weight lifting was the best thing I did for my recovery. I'm not perfect around food and never will be.…
  • Enjoy the food! I'm 6 ft and 154 (but am a girl) and I easily maintain on 2100 to 2200 for a point of reference.
  • 45 minute pilates class.

  • I'm always a lot hungrier on lift days too. I always eat at maintenance on lifting days, or even a couple hundred over.
  • Sensible advice, as always! I'll sometimes find a MFP entry that seems close enough and use that too, especially if it's something like a chicken curry my husband made or if I ate out and have no idea what the calories are. I guess based on how full I am--I usually start feeling borderline too full after around 800-900…
  • I cook a lot too so I find it annoying to always be entering new things. I will be the first to say I'm very lazy with logging. I do a lot of vague guesstimates and figure if it's in the ballpark, that's fine. Weighing everything I eat, especially things like broccoli or mixed greens, is just exhausting. I eyeball it in…
  • Chains Wagamama and Pizza Express have lighter options/nutritional info online. Nandos probably does too. In general in the UK the portions are smaller than the US. London also has loads of vegan/health conscious restaurants. This article has lots of suggestions:…
  • I ate like 1000 calories of flapjack today. I did a mild mental 'screw it' but let myself eat it until I hit maintenance calories or a tiny bit over, then I stopped. Went off and did a weights class and had lots of energy for it. I'm about to go to bed and I'm still not hungry, but I don't feel too full. I'm not going to…
  • Your metabolism is fine. Stop undereating (but do weigh your food to make sure you haven't been underestimating), do some moderate exercise, be patient. Weight loss is not linear. Start thinking in terms of months, not weeks.
  • I lose weight on 1850 and I do less exercise than you (and way less cardio. I do weights 2-3x a week, running 2x a week for 30 minutes, plus lots of walking, then yoga 1-2x a week). I'm 6 ft and 154. So I'd say you're probably tired because you're not eating enough--a conservative estimate is that you're burning at least…
  • Or you could just lose with a moderate deficit, which is a lot less complicated.
  • Go get treatment for your eating disorder. I don't know why you expect we're going to give you different answers than we have on the other 4-5 threads you've started.
  • I'd keep an eye on it for a few more weeks and if you're still losing more than 2-3 a week up the calories. It's hard to tell within the first few weeks of a diet because your body is unaccustomed to a deficit. Things like water and glycogen stores being depleted don't give you the full picture. Take pictures and use a…
  • I eat 2200-2500 or so to maintain. Currently at 1800-1900 4 days a week or so to do a slow cut before I go on holiday. I usually eat at maintenance or a little over on my heavy lifting days, simply because I'm hungrier. I'm just under 6 ft tall and 154 pounds. Would like to be more like 151-152 before I go to France and…
  • I gained 10 pounds on it rather quickly when I went on the shot (exactly once)--and I'm someone who gains or loses very slowly. My moods were also very intense and I was soo irritable. I had the implant for a bit as well but also didn't like it for similar reasons. Mostly I was on the combination pill, then the Mirena,…
