  • I had problems with one family member, who really wasn't happy with my post baby diet, health and exercise choices. They eventually got used to the situation and the comments and attempts to feed have long stopped. Whilst jealously is strong factor behind some comments, I just thing that with some people it's all about…
  • Saw this on twitter this morning, this man is a genius. I tried it first thing and wow! I was at the point of planking for yonks and still not feeling abs kick in, this is much better, hits harder, faster and takes less time to get the same shake.
  • I have a similar sister, we no longer speak. The better I handled each situation the more venomous she got the next time until the relationship was un-repairable. Be true to yourself. If you find it mildly irritating and only have to put up with it occasionally it's going to take a much lower level of response than from…
  • I think women have it hardest on anything which comes down to aesthetics. We are judged by men, judged (often even more harshly) by women, and we are terrible for beating ourselves up. Men tend to be less judged and far more pragmatic about themselves. To be fair, it doesn't really matter what size you are as a woman,…
  • I'm 5'1, 96-98lb, very active and need 2400 calories per day to maintain my weight, and less and it falls off.
  • I get this all the time. I've dared to be the awful combination of slim, small framed and petite. Apparently it makes me disgusting. I mean it's not like I chose my height or my frame size. The only thing I am responsible for is making sensible choices. Like working out and eating a normal (and not an excessive) amount.
  • I like the sports bra's which are meant to be outer wear so are more tops with built in bra than just a bra. That said I only wear them as a top at home, but when I'm out I don't worry too much if it shows a bit in places (where as I would if it was a normal bra) because it just looks like I have a layered top on.
  • I think you need to eat more. I'm 5'1 and 96-98lb, so shorter than you but with similar BMI, and I'm also very active and I need 17000 calories per week, or 2400 per day to maintain my weight. I'd say 2000 is much too low for you. Ditto others, add a dash of oil, or a handful of nuts, grab a banana after breakfast etc to…
  • People who get too close. I mean do they think they are going to absorb some of my workout by doing nothing and standing REALLY close to me? I swear one woman was all for getting into the squat rack with me the other day!
  • There are a lot of fabulous recipes for both mains and deserts on the Rawtarian site. It's one of my favorites for ideas: http://www.therawtarian.com/
  • That is exactly where I am. Both sides of my family will happily go out of our way to cater for anyone, it doesn't matter whether it's down to calorie counting, paleo (BFF is paleo), veggie, allergies or even sheer fussiness. Doesn't matter, if we invite you, we will cook for you, even if it means cooking 5 or 6 different…
  • I'm struggling here. You are eating at a calorie deficit only you are getting physically bigger? You know it takes us girls a long time plus calorie surplus to put on just 1lb of muscle? You can't gain any significant (or arguably any at all) muscle on a calorie deficit unless you are starting from a point of obesity,…
  • One of my husbands relatives is a vegetarian, they ALWAYS bring their own food to our place. It drives me nuts and I think it's SO rude because I'm a vegan myself, so it's not like I don't understand the things they can't/won't eat. One Christmas I was cooking a full on roast dinner for 12 people and this individual turned…
  • Well put it this way, I'm 5'1 and 98lb and I go by my fitbit, which I I have to say I think slightly underestimates my calorie needs. I try not to eat less than 2000 calories on any one day, and my average intake to maintain my weight is 2400 calories per day. If I'm ill or I have an awfully stressful day (like last week)…
  • Sadly there are many. Small child who obviously can't be left. Hubby works long hours so far too dark most of the year when he's home. No pavements (we are rural yet no footpaths either) but reasonably fast/dangerous roads which makes for unpleasant outside running conditions and no natural loops, so it's straight up…
  • A) What equipment do you use? -Power cage, 2 barbells & weights, dumbbells, non-slip mats, bench (to do hip thrusts/Bulgarian slip squats), yoga mat B) Do you use any dvds, insanity, 30 day challenges etc? -I do yoga 3x per week using a DVD as I can't get to classes C) How heavy do you lift if you use weights... ie what…
  • If he's actually flirting with her and/or spending more time texting/snapchatting with her than he is spending time with you then I'd just dump him. You're only 22, how on earth anyone even vaguely sensible can talk about swapping a 22 year old (8 years their junior) for a younger model is beyond me. Even if he wanted to…
  • I have Crohn's and I'm very very active. The only way I can maintain a decent weight and muscle mass is to eat as much "good" fat as possible. Nuts, avocado, coconut (flesh, oil or mana), hemp, chia seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, cold pressed hemp/nut oil etc. Anything with heated or heavily processed oils in sets my…
  • I can't post photos of myself thanks to a stalking ex, so I've never been on the receiving end of online flirting with a stranger. Funnily enough no one wants to flirt with my dog so I've had no messages telling me what lovely ears, or what a big wet nose I have! In real life, I adore men checking me out, it makes me feel…
  • By "polite" if you mean not personally offensive then here are some options. 1. Dust off your acting skills and fake sincerity. Hit them with "oh but I just can't get away with eating like you ladies can, it goes straight to my (insert body part), I'm so jealous you all look so gorgeous and can eat what ever you like",…
  • I had terrible troubles getting my fat levels right. If I have it too high then it upsets my IBD, too little and my hormones go crazy. I've actually settled on 40% of calories from natural fats and I feel best here. I would suggest making sure that everything is okay and you are getting enough of the right sorts of fats.
  • The problem is that everyone wants to feel good about themselves, and as we all come in various shapes and sizes there is no universal way of doing this. Lots of people do resort to trying to pull others down to make themselves feel better, it's not just, but it happens in life. I have two mechanism of dealing with this.…
  • Truly underweight for your frame as well as height? Yes that has health implications. It's especially important to maintain a good weight if you are active. I have horses so I know exactly what's involved in what you are doing. The issue as others have pointed out actually comes down to things like bone density and muscle…
  • Emotional abuse is the worst kind. Playing a game with someone where you see just how far you can push/humiliate/manipulate them and then gain their "forgiveness" is a hideous way of treating someone. How much can I get away with, how desperate is this person to have me etc is not the behavior of a normal loving partner.…
  • If she ate what you eat she may well "starve" if she has a much higher calorie requirement than you. If she's any or all of taller, bigger framed, more muscle mass, more active, heavier then she will have a higher calorie requirement. which I often think makes it easier to fit treats in. That doesn't mean that it's right…
  • I don't count housework or gardening, and whilst I do minimal amounts of housework I do enormous amounts of gardening. I wear a pedometer and I set my activity level count in MFP according to how many steps I've done.
  • I'm another one to book a massage, or a facial. I tend to do a 4 weekly cycle. If I've been good for 4 weeks then I tend to go and have something done.
  • Don't panic yet, I went from a H cup to a FF cup with the last 10lb of weight loss. I see from your ticker that you still have some weight to lose yet so there is still time. If you want a reduction then the results will probably be neater/more proportioned to your new frame when you are there. If it's what you need to…
  • Sounds like your wife has issues about the fact you are in better shape than she is! If only my husband would do chores shirtless. I'd be in heaven! Sounds like OP's partner is also insecure about weight loss. It's normal to have feelings when your partner makes changes, and I guess it can take a while to get used to them,…
  • Jess Ennis not only looks, in my opinion, like a goddess, but she is such a beautiful soul with it. Got a real girl crush going on with her. I have visible-ish abs but not a cut 6 pack. You can see my side vertical abdominal lines and, if you look hard and I'm not bloated, my top two abs. Personally it makes me feel very…
