I've talked to nurses/dieticians before who have said diet isn't related to your skin...like the old wives tale that eating chocolate will make you break out. Not a thing...unless you end up with a rash or something (as opposed to pimples) because of an allergy. I used to have skin problems when I was a teenager...as many…

i practically have to roll them into my bra....which is at least 1 cup size too big as a necessity in order to have room to house the skin drapes. I'm sure that won't happen to you.......i hope....?

i have my 6 month post surgery testing and whatnot coming up in about a week and part of what the donor team requires is a bp reading sent from my family doctor, so i'll ask her about it....and in turn she will probably add a note to the stuff has to send the team to ask THEM about it because she'll have no idea. lol

i was meaning in general if you feel normal otherwise and aren't symptomatic. and of course i also added the caveat right at the beginning that she should check with her doctor on that to clarify what it sounded to me like he might mean

yes, my blood pressure went up as I lost weight. it went back down once I started getting more sodium after I figured out i was losing about 3 liters of fluids a day with my running and was probably too low on my sodium compared to my potassium

thanks y'all....i also have an odd fist sized alien baby bump lump where the scar is ....the surgeon tried to tell me it was a "muscle tone" issue...but i literally went from flat to having this exact asymmetrical lump when i woke up half an hour after the surgery... and aside from the size of the lump decreasing as the…

as a side note, I'll say...(check this with your doctor of course), keep in mind he's probably meaning if it's consistently in the 30s that might be an issue.....don't necessarily freak out, think "oh gawsh, I'm dying!" and run to the ER because you check one time and see 37 or something like that. I had to do a 24 hour…

preach. I'm bradycardic. Always have been regardless of weight. I've been sitting around 40 - 45 bpm since I was 310, have lost 175 and that hasn't changed. I asked the kidney donor team if that would be considered a health issue that would prevent me from donating and they said it wasn't a problem, period. My blood…

oh i loved what i looked like when i was fat. i think i'm pretty gross looking now, though, and would never be caught dead nekked unless i can somehow manage to magically come up with the $20,000 it would take to fix the joke i've been left with.

i burn a lot of calories in a day and i also need a wackload of extra sodium to make up for what i lose through my ridiculously high sweat rate. lol... so, if i find a bag of chips that comes in under 1000 cal for the bag, i'll just eat the whole thing and it's no problem.

welcome to my life. I have to hit between 3000 and 3500 calories every day. if I take up 1000 of that with a liter of ice cream? I still have another 2000 minimum to use for getting whatever nutrients I need....which, considering there are people who have to eat a lot less than that number every day, is obviously more than…

I used to look much younger than my age when I was fat. I think I look older than my age now.

what she said. you'll have plenty of better things to spend your hard earned cash on than some con artist's gimmick. like rabbitjb said.....genetics, speed of loss, how long you've been over are factors that will determine what happens with your skin. I had been over since pretty much birth (hello 12 pound baby!) and only…

i don't vacation often, but the last time I did was a few months into my initial weight drop about a year and a half ago. When I left I was 218 and when I weighed myself about a week after my return I was 198.

Maybe the problem is partially the fact that you look at exercise as a struggle. Maybe you need to find some wicked cardio that you enjoy and doesn't feel like a "struggle" or all kinds of work. I'm "relatively fit" I suppose, but I certainly haven't always been. I had to drop a good 175 pounds and get myself super healthy…

preach. that's the number 1 problem with all the stupid "scientific" articles people find on the ol' interwebs. Everyone needs to memorize and repeat...."correlation is not causation....correlation is not causation....". Remember this every time you open your web browser.

i consume inordinate amounts of all kinds of sweeteners. Had no problem dropping over 170 pounds and staying there.
-
cardio over time can lower blood pressure. but not while you're doing it. As you're exercising your bp is actually going up.
-
thanks! I mean....why be creative when you can just take the easy way out, right?
-
I don't have any to lose by have lost about 175 depending on the day. I'll be friends with just about anyone, provided they're not a creeper. :D
-
i solve this problem by eating the entire container.

Yeah, I had no idea running as much as I do could be what was causing the issue. The doctors all knew how much I was running and never said anything, so it took all kinds of hunting to find what the minimum required amount of sodium is per day (500mg....but I had a heck of a time finding that. Everyone always wants to tell…

Had normal BP as a fat person, dropped buttloads of weight and it went up to hypertensive even though I was doing "all the right things". All the doctors I had to see throughout the process of donating a kidney told me to just "keep doing what I'm doing", but what I was doing was dropping my sodium lower and lower (because…

I love ice cream. and cake.....etc. So I eat it. It's much easier to make sure you can get what you want when you plan ahead, though. I generally plug in my planned exercise for the day as well as my usual breakfast, lunch and dinner and see what I have left available and plug in my snacks and whatnot after that. then I'll…

I've never taken a nekkid pic of myself. I probably should have taken advantage of the fact that, while I WAS a fat girl....at least I was a smooth, not bad looking fat girl. Now with the skin drapes i'll never get to do that. ballz.

9 cats. not her own, but annoying ones from around the neighbourhood.....did i mention these cats are also dead and packed in shoeboxes?

yeah, my mother tried to "help" me, i think, by "suggesting" that i try this or that diet with her...whatever was the thing at the time. Ugh, cabbage soup. gross...Looking back at pictures, and knowing that while I WAS overweight by the time I graduated, I was only between 5 and 15 pounds overweight and nowhere near…

Yeah. It's pretty sad. I sat on a bus one time and listened to a mother chat with a complete stranger about how her daughter (who was about 6 or 7 and full cognizant of the conversation) was VERY overweight compared with the charts for kids her age and she would have to have a talk with the doctor about how to "fix…

Unfortunately there ARE people who would say this to their child. Some people are just mean at heart.
