Yes. The calories can add up fairly quick. If you were on a program like WW they made up for the 'free' items by setting a lower calorie goal through their points. For example when I was on WW and double logged on here I noticed that I averaged about 1,000 calories before adding in fruits and vegetables.

I'm not sure how big of a town you live in but where I am there are usually free family friendly events going on just about every weekend.
-
This would put me at a little over 300 above maintenance.
-
People were asking you to back up your claims. How is that mean?
-
Read the 'Most Helpful' announcements on this and the General Weight loss boards. They will help guide you with the setup, logging accuracy, and understanding the general science behind weight loss.

Personally I find using a food scale to be less time consuming than using measuring cups/spoons and less stressful than estimating. My portion sizes don't have to be exact if I don't want them to be and I don't worry so much about my numbers being accurate.

The only time I post about the gym is if something interesting happens, which is rare. Food is only shared if I find a good recipe and I think that someone else would enjoy it. I figure that if I want to go into details about workouts or weight loss that is what my MFP home page and friends are for.

Congrats on the engagement! I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 36 and just got engaged over Memorial Day weekend. I have about 35 pounds to lose. I'm not sure why you think you are ugly. Looking at your profile picture I see a beautiful woman with a gorgeous smile. Is there anything that you love about yourself? Maybe try…

This is a great idea. I wrote my whys on an index card and I keep it with me at all times. I also have them taped to the fridge door for those times I'm tempted to go off track.

I would ask others to take a look at my diary to see if I'm slacking on something (consistency and/or accuracy). Sometimes having a second set of eyes will catch something that we overlook or don't see as a problem. Along with that I would also recommend a food scale. It can mean the difference between maintaining and…

You could try weighing the bottle before and after and see if the difference matches up with what it weighs when you put it on your yogurt.

Great practical advice as always @diannethegeek! This needs to be added to the list of helpful posts.

OP do you have a link to this article?

Same here. What also helped me was learning more about fluctuations and what causes them. Knowing that they are normal took a lot of the pressure and stress off of me.

Avoid it. I have a FB friend who sells it. She has yet to post her own progress pics and some of the ones that she does post are ones she found on Google.
-
No mention of last night's PPV? I'm slightly disappointed. Good job on coming up with a plan though.

I didn't realize that was called a guided setup. What I meant was an actual guide on how to use MFP. For example what weekly weight loss goal is ideal for someone and why. An explanation of the formula that MFP uses. A walk through of how to use the site or app. There is a lot of good information within the community, but…
-
I really don't think that people are purposely ignoring the formulas. MFP just doesn't make the information easy to find. I think a lot of the issues that you have outlined could be resolved if MFP had a guided setup, but I don't see them ever doing that. While we are lucky enough to have members that have been nice enough…

How much do you have to lose? Like others have said 2 pounds a week may be too aggressive for you and your expectations may be the only thing that needs to be adjusted. I know that when I set my goal to 2 pounds a week MFP sets me to 1200 calories and tells me that I will lose 1.6 pounds a week on that amount.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. My boyfriend and I are going on vacation next week too, and I know he is going to propose while we are there. I have some cute dresses packed to wear while we are there but I'm not going to worry about what I'm wearing or how much I weigh when he does it. I'm just going to enjoy the…

Is your boyfriend planning on popping the question soon or is this just a long off thought that popped into your head?
-
I would call the YMCA family friendly, not PF.
-
I was unaware that they are family friendly. One of the few things that I like about PF is that they don't let kids under 13 in there.
-
Not even close. My boyfriend accidentally bought me diet Dew a few years ago. I still give him grief about it (it's that bad!).
-
OP you may be eating more than you think that you are due to inaccurate logging and not using a food scale. One thing that you said that stood out to me was you said that you log 1 or 1.1 portions of things. Those items should be weighed and logged by their weight. You really don't have any idea what may be meant by "one…

Same here.

I have a friend who sells another MLM product and I have never seen her own progress pictures, but she posts pics of others a few times a week. I finally caught on to her finding these pictures on Google when she posted before and after pics of Drew Manning (the fit to fat to fit guy).

You have to switch up your exercise or your calories to keep your body guessing. If you don't then you will hit a plateau.
-
Maybe it would help to do some preplanning before you get there. Check out their menu online and when you get there you won't have to worry about looking at the menu and going off track.
