Yes, a calorie deficit is the way you're going to lose weight, but health should incorporate being fit and doing exercise in my opinion. There's a lot of routines on the BeFit YouTube channel that might be good to check out.

I don't know about the OP, but I do know that where I live, running in the dark isn't just cold and miserable, it's pretty dangerous. Just for all the people talking about what she 'should' have done.

I watch tv while I run, I find it makes the time go quicker and I run further/faster. It's just the psychological effect of being distracted from what you're doing, which is probably why you find running outside easier too.

As already mentioned, 30 day shred is great, and fitnessblender.com is good as there are so many videos to choose from, although I find some quite tricky. If you have an iPhone/iPad, the Nike training club app is also good.
