It would be HYPOTHYROID, are you sure it is HYPER and not HYPO? that would make the difference, because Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) is a condition in which your thyroid gland produces too much of the hormone thyroxine. and HYPO would be slower and could be a possible effect.
