Yes, I agree that food "addiction" isn't the case here. I was trying to make a more general point about your original claim. However, you say you agree that food addiction exists. You also say that if an "addict" throws away the substance of their addiction (in the confines of their own home, even if they didn't procure it…

If food "addiction" is possible (hence my previous comment), someone throwing away a cake due to their addiction is not a "clean" vs. "dirty" eating scenario (regardless of how you try to spin it). Note: This is not to imply that is what the poster is claiming occurred in this instance.

I wonder where you come down on the whole "food addict" thing. Were you here when there were many individuals that stated that being "addicted" to food is the same thing as narcotics? (yes, absolutely!)

The final retort of those who are unable to gracefully acknowledge defeat: "You're a troll." Sorry you couldn't keep up.

I don't know what your native language is, but I concede there is a barrier of some kind going on. I didn't track my calories in childhood. Do you think children should? Or just perhaps their guardians, always in the shadows? Oh, and I was far from overweight in my youth. You are definitely correct that lack of exercise is…

Someone on this forum questioning my reading comprehension? Okay then. You can believe a daily diet of fast food is not a causative factor in weight gain if you want. It isn't like the nutritional information isn't public knowledge, so you can preach against it to your heart's content. I know how I desired to use the term…

Yeah, child obesity in developed countries is at epidemic levels. God forbid we don't let them stuff themselves with those delicious "treats."

I don't normally comment on "success" stories (although they're one of my favorite categories), but I admire your confidence. You are justifiably proud of your accomplishment, and are an inspiration. You look fantastic.

I can understand (although not necessarily condone) wanted to get burgers/pizza on the weekends, but you're implying that he picks up "Krispy Kremes" (or some similarly fatty treat) every day? I don't even think the "moderation" zealots do that. No wonder he "could stand to lose a few pounds!" Any one who gets such…

She's that girl from "Facts of Life?" Blair?

Is this a trick question? Look on the label...somewhere there's a "serving size." If that letter next to the number (corresponding to "serving size") is a "g," it's referring to "grams." Place the amount of peanut butter you wish to eat on a food scale (I'll leave the details of how to acquire this item as an exercise for…

I think most will agree that the Net (like most things) sinks to the lowest common denominator, and that anonymity, coupled with groupthink, leads to some fairly unfavorable results. The point of the OP appears to be that overweight individuals should be excluded from this (i.e. not be treated like everyone else), because…

I weigh (and report) daily, typically in the mornings. Focus on the trends, and ignore the natural fluctuations.

Didn't look at the link, and not sure what the reference is, but it made me recall a Simpson's episode which was quite humorous. +1

Don't take the "clean eating bashing" personally. It's primarily the ones who've had difficulties with their weight in the past. They've decided (or are unable) to not give up foods high in fat and sugar (i.e. "junk food"), and due to whatever limited success they've had, believe there is something wrong with those who…

You may want to figure out what makes eating at that time a day such an issue, since it's certainly unusual. Constipated for days? And you sometimes can't "physically eat?" You have more serious issues going on. And no, there's nothing magical about eating a meal upon waking (i.e. "breakfast"). It can be safely skipped.…

Well, it's not exactly like a guy can't "hit on" a female without attracting the attention of every casual observer in the place. Do they all bash someone over the head with a stick? Someone makes a comment that they prefer not to receive unwanted advances in a public environment, and gets a rash of responses making light…

I lost all my weight without eating back any exercise calories, but I didn't learn about the "MFP way" until late in the process, so I didn't exactly do it "right" (I utilized portion control, and started exercising). As they say, you can't out-train a poor diet, but exercise can certainly help improve your deficit.
-
Yeah, the topic is "eating more than you think...." although the implication is, additionally, where it can make a difference. As to whether or not concern over foods legally labelled as "zero" calories is a valid pursuit, you can re-read my previous post.

If the spray were 50 calories per use, it wouldn't be noted as "zero" for 1/3 of a second, so that concern isn't valid. What are we talking about anyway? Cooking spray? What are you going to do with it, that makes this a potential issue? Do you use it as a marinade? Drink it as a treat?

It seems that you feel the gym members are all part of some grand sexist plot against you (e.g. TV loud and set to "sports" channels (cuz only dudes watch sports, amirite?)) and all the other male pi...err workers there allow it, due to the mass conspiracy. You need to use equipment? Then ask. It seems like you expect…

Yes, because the average American consumer doesn't have much sense, sadly.

And this decision was made because? Picking apart details doesn't change the overarching rationale.

The FDA knowingly turns a blind eye to the various misrepresentations of supplement manufacturers, as long as their products aren't (knowingly) harmful. Not too difficult to understand why, given the economic importance of the sales resulting from such complicity.

Yes, you're missing something. Even the most unobservant individual realizes that you should eat less, in order to achieve weight loss. The media ensures this. So, what's the problem? We've all seen (or perhaps some of us are) those types: "I've done everything possible, but I just can't achieve <fill in the blank>." Then…

Our bodies here are merely temporary vessels. Where will your abs be in 100 years? Edifying our spiritual well-being will have consequences everlasting.
-
You "know" your daily goal for maintenance is 1620, yet you report you eat an average of 800, along with exercising 70 mins each day (which, of course, you're not eating back), and you're asking a forum how to stop losing weight? If this is a troll, you need to try harder. Otherwise, just read your own post for the answer.

Wow, sounds like a real supportive wife you got there. Not saying you should get a divorce or anything. It's just nice to see us dysfunctional types aren't alone.
-
Of course. It just makes me wonder what your opinion had to do with anything, then.

Well, to take that to its logical conclusion... If a member tried to use a piece of the equipment for a couple of hours, to the exclusion of all other paying members (and I'm assuming her membership isn't any more privileged than theirs), I'm certain the proprietors of the gym would definitely not agree with you.
