"Hey, I just got permission from an anonymous Internet person to disregard my health, comfort AND the way I look!" You don't need our approval lady.

I think it's because you used the F-word.

When you have a 6-pack, and you're talking about how yummy ice cream, bacon, and other "bad" foods are, it's forgivable. But when you're obviously far from any goal that most would consider reasonable (according to aesthetics and/or health), and you're going on about how you can eat everything you want and it's working?…

Being a lot younger certainly doesn't help. Meow!

I read these forums to be entertained. I can appreciate that some may arrive here in order to get medical advice, but, quite frankly, those that approach life in this way (when one is constantly inundated with "information") need to break that habit. It's one thing to ask random, anonymous individuals (who have no…

Ice cream is delicious. So is Gelato. I enjoy eating them both. I don't get a lot of pleasure talking about them, however. I think I need to work on being more focused on how good I feel when I eat food (particularly ice cream). Perhaps that group is for me.

Yeah, she hasn't lost more than a pound in 8 weeks. Oh, and she weighs 90 pounds, which makes her a prime candidate for weight loss. Even if you've never heard of the metric system, at least use common sense.

I'm not knocking "free food," but free pizza, that you can only get once a month? That's actually a deciding factor? All I have to say is Planet Fitness definitely knows their niche.

You must mean that the users of said website are "odd." I can't see any real benefit from the mechanism, since the flagging is due to the caprice of individuals (who have no penalty for misuse). Additionally, you can flag something off, but there's no way for an opposing viewpoint to balance these flags out, regardless of…

Yeah, it wasn't my statement. Actually, if you want to read what I wrote, I even said (and I'll repeat it here to save you the apparent trouble of having to dissect my earlier post) "not that I advocate the necessity of total sugar avoidance." I don't mind being reviled for my viewpoints, but at least make sure you know…

Linus Pauling was actually quite accomplished and well-respected, so I appreciate the opportunity to read anything he had to say on nutrition (not that I advocate the necessity of total sugar avoidance). However, I wonder if he ever referred to sugar explicitly as "poison?" (need to look that up) Well, even if he did, it…

This isn't really news to 99% of those who frequent fitness forums, such as this.

You see your gym as a "safe haven?" "A second home?" Is this for real? I assume (perhaps incorrectly) that no one's going to assault me in my gym, but I don't ask for much else. I typically notice other people only when they're playing with their phones, while sitting at my next station. Someone's life must indeed be…

Trust me, you're not alone. There are plenty of fat people who enjoy food more than they value aesthetics or comfort.

If the OP's boyfriend eats out often, it may be difficult (although no more so than most individual's that guesstimate their calories when in the same situation). However, if the BF takes prepared lunches, there should be no issue. Of course, if he isn't honest about what he's eating while away from her, then yes, he could…

If you have total knowledge regarding all aspects of his intake (and it appears that you may), then there is no reason that you can't monitor your boyfriend's diet just as well as he can (and you can also figure out his TDEE, or whatever else, obviously). I don't see why some have such a problem with this; it isn't like…

Wait a minute..."we" cook? So this great news that you'd be able to eat these fabulously low-cal (relatively speaking) fish and chips came from some website that sells the aforementioned food? Seems legit.

Perhaps she's going to a catered affair, where she gets to choose one from column A, another from column B, etc.
-
If you're going out to "celebrate," this isn't a regular occurrence. Who cares how much you eat? Enjoy yourself.

My experience has been that my appetite (hence my cravings) lessens as I decrease the amount of food that I eat. It's not a conscious effort of avoidance, or nagging when the need isn't met. I've been told that your stomach doesn't shrink (which I won't dispute), but I certainly know my appetite does (perhaps I'm…

There are some who already eschew vaccines for other reasons, but ok, no hermit crab cures. Is this a concern where you live? I don't know anyone who's ever been bitten by a snake (and I'm assuming you meant "anti-venom"). Yeah, we all know how the typical Vegan hates bicycling. Wow, there goes that red leather jacket I've…

Thanks, just what I was looking for. I knew this site wouldn't let me down (well, at least the community).
-
Thanks. Will check this out.

This is not very helpful. I have an existing recipe that cannot be updated. I know where to go, and what to do. This isn't working properly. I'm not asking anyone to fix it; I'm just looking for alternatives. But thanks for your reply.

Perhaps all the Facebookers reflexively "flag" posts that they genuinely admire, or are inspired by (given the lack of an explicit "like" button). At least that's how I take it, given my feedback.

Thanks for pointing out that no one on these boards has either the ability or connections to make a serious proposal to combat world hunger. If such were the case, I implore you to leave these forums (along with your insane post count) and go where you can do some actual good. Doesn't change the fact that it was in poor…

Except, of course, for the minor fact that a candy bar isn't nutritionally complete. What good are extra "magic" calories, if you're still malnourished? Thankfully, those that are in charge of fighting global hunger don't reside on these forums. Additionally, getting food to those in need is more of a resource issue. Even…

The "a calorie is not a calorie" debate is no different than the "muscle weighs more than fat" one, which rears its ugly head on these forums from time to time. When someone states "muscle weighs more than fat," people start coming out of the trees saying that they are actually referring to density. Of course they are, but…

I can never get enough of these types of posts. "I'm doing everything right, and I'm not losing weight." The definition of "everything right" is that it's helping you achieve your goals (whatever they may be), so no, you're not. And where do people get the whole "I'm not losing weight, so I need to eat more"…
-
I'm with you, but you may want to ease up on the grammar lessons. That kind of judgmental attitude isn't taken too well on the fat forums. Oh, and I noticed there's some French in your profile. You may want to get rid of that. All the best!
