  • Camel meat?
  • Good for you... I lose more eating more of the right things and less of the wrong things. I eat when I'm hungry. I don't when I'm not. Whether that's 500 calories a day or 2200, it doesn't matter to me. When your body is healthy, you can trust your own hunger. Good times.
  • Sprintec made me feel a lot of side effects: achy breasts, bloated, water weight gain. Everyone is different, though. I will say this-- in general, it can take your body 3 to 6 months to regulate itself while on hormonal birth control. If you're looking for something lower in hormones, I've always had great luck with…
  • Why not just sweeten it NATURALLY? Why is that so friggin' hard?! Maybe with erythritol or stevia-- or even xylitol-- it prevents cavities, for goodness sake. Why must be shove these awful chemicals down their throats? **Sigh**
  • I posted this fish taco recipe last year and it's my absolute go-to for tilapia tacos. It's positively AMAZING! (and you'll see a picture!) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/644143-fantastically-fabulous-fish-tacos?hl=fish+tacos
  • Just out of curiosity, why would you take diuretics after a binge? You can't pee out calories. That having been said, I'm glad you're OK. As others have said, seek medical help, though. Eating disorders don't take you anywhere but down. Feel better soon.
  • Don't fret. :) Seriously-- i'm not kidding-- stick to the 95% "nutritious in some way" rule and your sugar levels will naturally level out. The best part-- it sucks for a few days, but you will completely lose your cravings relatively quickly. I've been completely sugar free-- and really only low glycemic fruits, really--…
  • Not trying to harp here-- but low fat diets exacerbate bad cholesterol levels (when induced dietarily-- not genetically). Healthy fats improve cholesterol levels. There is absolutely no need to be afraid of natural, healthy fats-- olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil... even high quality butter and cream .
  • OK, here's my take (and I totally understand the microwave thing): More whole foods, fewer "diet snacks." Greek yogurt is great, but the fruit on the bottom kind is loaded with sugar-- usually 20g or so per serving, which is as much as a big serving of Froot Loops. Try a no-sugar added variety-- or do what i do and buy the…
  • ^ Agree-- even if you aren't working out. Personally I think fat shouldn't be less than 30%, but that's just me. Protein should take the place of some of your carbs-- and when you eat carbs, you should eat them with some type of protein. Protein should be eaten at every single meal-- protein is your friend. :)
  • Obviously this is controversial (I can just feel someone coming below me to complain...). MFP recommends the typical high carb, low fat crud that the U.S. government recommends. How many calories are you eating? How many carb grams are you averaging? Where are you getting your carbs-- from what foods/drinks?
  • What macro percentages are you eating? A1C, trigs and cholesterol are almost completely driven by too many high and medium glycemic index carbohydrates. Are you eating a low fat diet? ETA: In re: cholesterol, HDL particle size matters more than the overall numbers. Have you had your particle size tested? That's a better…
  • I think that if she wanted to deliver at home, she should have gone to a midwife...
  • I am a bit worried about the smell. I've heard that chickens have an ammonia-like odor. I'm hoping that if we limit the amount of chickens (we can only have 5 max. anyway), that will naturally minimize the odor. Is that wishful thinking?
  • I definitely plan on getting 6 weekers so I don't have to worry about keeping the chicks inside. My budget really doesn't allow for incubators and heat lamps atm. LOL. We have a dog ourselves, but i do plan on keeping the chickens penned in. Our dog is extremely friendly (we let her walk around our pet hamster and she's…
  • Thank you! I am looking into buying a coop with a small attached run so I don't have to let them free range **all** the time-- but I plan to every day that it is warm enough. A moveable pen seems easy enough. Thanks!
  • I realllly appreciate your help! I will send you a PM. Thanks so much for your response!
  • How the heck do people get angry over coconut oil? Good LORD. Refined coconut oil is the way to go for high temp cooking-- yes. Lower temp stuff you can do with unrefined, but the refining process keeps the oil stable at a higher temperature. Refined or not, I'll still opt for that over unstable omega 6 powerhouses like…
  • I looove it! It's a fantastically healthy source of sustained energy, helps to regulate blood sugar and is even amazing for just about anything (including as a lotion or in your hair to make it shiny). If you don't want the coconut flavor in your cooking (like for eggs or other savory things), just buy the organic refined…
  • True. TNP has 50 or more pounds to lose until goal.
  • I am low carb, so my go-to easy snack faves include hard boiled eggs, off-the-bone deli turkey, ham and cream cheese roll ups, strawberries with whipped heavy cream and extra extra extra EXTRA sharp cheddar cheese! :) Oh, and cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and bell pepper strips. Nom. :)
  • I drive a 2009 Chevy Cobalt LS. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. It's too small inside and there is pretty much no leg room whatsoever in the back seat. It's pretty cramped all over, but it gets good gas mileage. We still have another three years to pay on it, too. I'd love to win or come into some money to pay it…
  • I am in Middleburg Heights-- just a few minutes south of Cleveland. Add me if you want (and anyone else who's local-- feel free!)
  • Thanks, all, for your responses. I'll try to fungal cream tonight and hope that it's just a sexy neck fungus. If it's not even a little better in the a.m., I'll call the doc for a referral. Thanks again!
  • Oh yeah-- I forgot to mention that I drink 7 bottles of colloidal silver every day. lol
  • I agree. I'm going to try an anti-fungal cream (oooh...chest fungus. sexay! lol) as hydrocortisone hasn't done anything. If it doesn't help in a few days, I'll call and demand a referral.
  • No, but it's like 20 degrees here, so I really doubt it is heat rash. But then again, I have no idea what it is. lol. Thank you for the thoughts. I will bring this all up to a (hopefully new) doctor. lol
  • Don't worry, guys-- I'm not coming here as an alternative to seeing a doctor. I appreciate the thoughtful responses. I'm going to have to beg my PCP for a referral to a dermatologist. Blah. I hate insurance sometimes.
  • Just my GP-- stupid insurance requires a referral for everything. My doctor took all of 30 seconds to look at it. *sigh* No other symptoms.
