I ran my first half in 2:08 and had trained for about 13 weeks prior to the race; just running, no strength. The race was in Philadelphia last September. I'm running another one this September and I want to be under 2 hours. I started training with a personal trainer for strength in addition to the running in December so…

In college my typical Friday night involved bartending for 6 hours until 3am, then swinging by the WaWa on my way home to get a pint of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream. I would watch Sex and the City reruns and eat THE ENTIRE PINT to unwind after work. Granted...at that point I was also running varsity track and on…

^^This is what happened to me...we only told close family at 6 weeks, but then I had to tell the dentist because of x-rays. I miss carried two weeks later, and when I went back to the dentist (should have been about 14 weeks at that point) it was awful to have to tell them I wasn't pregnant anymore. I miscarried while my…

I did a Warrior Dash last summer and it was a blast. I was training for a half-marathon at the time so the course wasn't really that taxing, but definitely run on trails first before you tackle something like that. I even signed up for a trail 5k race a few weeks before. I'm doing a TM in April in PA...here's hoping its…

My sister-in-law, two friends and I signed up for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer...40 miles in 2 days! It's a great motivator to work out for AND it supports a great cause. :)

OH...good luck with that one! I'm doing one in April. He does realize its like 11 miles of running, too, right??

I agree with the eggs...my favorite right now is an egg white and low-fat cheddar omelet with some berries and a slice of whole wheat toast. That generally keeps me full...but I do like to snack mid-morning!

The best thing ever is not to look at the scale...I know it sounds silly...but since I've been doing more strength training I've actually been GAINING weight (YIKES!). The big thing though is that even though the darn number is higher, my clothes are fitting differently and inches are going away. I'd suggest maybe doing…

 To all the Rock & Roll Half Runners...I did the R&R 10k in NYC in October 2011 (baby steps...). It was an awesome experience...you'll have a great time! The atmosphere was just crazy...people were dressed up in crazy outfits and it was just a really fun time. :)
