how much of a deficit is worked into the 1900? I am 5'5', 25yo F 200lbs, and I eat between 2200-2600 depending on my workout for the day/rest day. So you might be able to eat a little bit more, but go based on how you're feeling! I know when I was down around 1700 my gym performance suffered.
-
That was my issue too was the activity, I was too scared to eat the activity points because unless you had an active link then you weren't sure how accurate the measurements were and I was up and down 2-4lbs/week. I lost 8-10lbs in 2 months but it was down 4 up 2 the ENTIRE time!
-
I agree, I bumped it up to between 2200-2600 depending on the day (2200 for the rest days, 2600 for the cardio class days and 2400 for the weight days)

YES!!!!! there needs to be a like button on posts

....REALLY?!? Dating myself here, but look at the episode of Full House where DJ wants to look good in a bikini so she stops eating and starts increasing her exercise then she faints at the gym.....

THANK YOU!!!! So glad I was not the only one questioning that advise  Oh and I completely agree with this advise, nerdfitness.com is AMAZING!!!

Why are you only eating 1200 calories?
-
go out and get New Rules of Lifting for Women, and read! and also look for the Eat More 2 Weigh Less and NROLFW groups and PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE YOU DO MORE DAMAGE THAN GOOD TO YOU BODY!

Two options: Use MFP as it's intended eat the calories they give you plus at least 50% exercise calories OR Calculate your TDEE (http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/) and eat that number and don't count exercise calories as they're already calculated into the number ALSO: DO NOT NET BELOW 2000, I am a 25yo F…
-
You have two options: Set MFP to maintenance levels and eat back your exercise calories OR Calculate you TDEE (http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/) and eat that amount and don't include exercise calories.

I have definitely backed off the exercise (2 30min body combat classes, 1 1hour body combat class, 2 30minute core training classes and 2-3 days of just strength training) plus adding the additional calories helped A LOT!!! I don't feel as worn out and hungry or grumpy.... no wonder I wasn't making any progress, and when I…

I recently found this page as well and it has been a huge help mentally switching from eating 1700-1900 calories/day to 2200-2400/day. I has been a struggle for me because it has always been drilled into my head to eat less calories and exercise more. I remember being in high school and college going to bed HUNGRY because…

completely agree, just wish I knew then what I know now....hindsight is 20/20

open the app, click on the three lines in the upper left hand corner, click on progress, click the + in the upper right hand corner and put your current weight

I was definitely channeling Alanis Morrissette LOL

I completely agree, I upped my calories by 200-300/day and I can already see results, I only do maybe 2 hours/week of cardio and right now 2-3 hours of lifting a week, but I will definitely back off the cardio if I feel I need to. When I was KILLING IT, I was doing 2 Body Pump classes, 2 Body Flow classes, 1 Body Attack…

I completely agree, when I went to the gym for my fitness evaluation the guy who was doing my evaluation took one look at me, at 200lbs and told me that I could lose 50lbs and I needed to "stop lifting like a man" I told him I was doing stronglifts 5x5 and was thinking about switching to New Rules of Lifting for Women....…

Same, at my lowest I was 190 and MISERABLE. now im 200 and I feel 1000 times better and more confident!
-
part of the issue was "low calories/high cardio" had been drilled into my head since I was in high school plus "carbs are evil". so in my mind 1500-1700 calories/day plus 2 body pump, 1 body attack, 1 spin, 1 conditioning and 2 body flow classes/week we=as what was going to get me the results I wanted....wasn't until I…

completely agree, my weight hasn't changed that much since September, maybe 10lbs but now the work clothes I bought back in September, which were too small, actually fit
-
I am so sick of the "I'm eating 1500 calories/day and killing it at the gym and I'm not losing" WELL DUH!!!! Calculate your BMR and TDEE and eat food and lift! I just had a discussion today with my coworker who is eating 1570 calories/day and is wondering why she binges....
-
Thank you  I can already feel a difference and it's been like 2 days! no wonder I was MISERABLE eating 1500-1700 calories and going to the gym 5-6 days a week...YIKES!!!! LESSON LEARNED!
-
Thank you!!! I just started looking into the Eat More to Weigh Less group and it makes a lot of sense and everything is starting to come together for me  no wonder I was barely losing weight and completely miserable eating 1500-1700 calories/day and going to the gym 5-6 days a week :/
-
I am trying to work up to my full TDEE, which based on activity would be at least 2646/day, i am still trying to get out of the mindset that i need to eat a little and exercise a lot but i could definitely feel a difference yesterday when i actually ate
-
You can add me, same thing... sit on my butt all day and my boyfriends eating habits are HORRIBLE!
-
I typically go for 3 strength training sessions (30mins - 1 hour depending, right now i'm following the New Rules of Lifting for Women program) and 2 cardio days (30mins Les Mills Body Combat and 30 mins of Les Mills CXWORX) - But it all depends on what you want, but I started getting the results I wanted when I started…

what do you mean?

^^ This. plus everything in moderation... you can still go out and eat brownies and everything you used to do just less than you used to, or add an extra 20 minute walk to have extra calories.
