I wear them a lot in winter. I live in Brisbane, Australia and it rarely gets really cold here, but it gets too cold to just have bare legs. I don't know how bigger ladies can wear them. I find I have to buy X-Tall which here is the largest you can buy (I am an American size 6 Australian size 10, 5'7 67kgs). If I buy any…

That was a really interesting read thanks! People really do put too much emphasis on what HRM's say. I think you should take any "measurement" tool with a grain of salt. While I have never been obese I have been overweight. At my heaviest I was 77kg. I am now 67kg and nearly at my goal. To fix this I taught myself about…

Why is that? ... Never mind I just googled it and read up on it :).

When I first started back doing strength training I was in agony for a few weeks. My calf muscles were the worst. I remember trying to walk up stairs and walking like I was 70 lol. It gradually got better/easier. I stretched a lot and massaged out my legs as much as I could. I found alternating my cardio and strength days…

I am 5,7", 27 and weigh 67kgs. I do an hour of strength training with no weights (squats, crunches, planking, lunges, push ups, burpies etc) and wear a heart rate monitor. I take minimal breaks between sets and blocks of exercises. I burn around 400-450 calories. So depending on your weight age etc it would think it would…

I have been waiting for something like this to come out. I think I will wait a bit. See how other people find it.

I agree with what everyone else has said. You can do an intense strength workout just using your own body. By adding in those light weights you have you will really get the heart pumping. Seeing as you are just starting out with strength training my main advice would be to make sure you do the exercises correctly. Focus on…

I use a heart rate monitor to get the calories burnt for any kind of strength training. I did an hour of different strength exercises yesterday and that burnt 415 calories.

I apologies if what I said early offended anyone. I didn't mean for it to sound that way. So no I do not think you are freaks. Obviously I didn't take the time to work my post appropriately. I was just a little irritated by previous comments about cardio being pointless etc. As I said above I don't have anything against…

1) I do understand that it also is due to what you consume. I said that I have natural muscle mass and doing weights makes that more obvious. ie I look really muscular and I would rather not. 2) Lol I didn't say everyone who has muscle are freaks. I was simply trying to say there is that some people who purely do weights…

Hi Kate, So sorry to hear about your father. I also lost my father in March this year to cancer after a 3 year battle. I know the feeling of total and utter helplessness and not caring about yourself. I took to drinking and over eating. Something that has helped me get myself back on track is thinking of how dissapointed…
