  • I'm going to be carb cycling to avoid the metabolic slowdown that has haunted me before with me to. You might want to look at it.
  • I don't really know because I don't use fitbit but I recall reading an article about it. It definitely does not adjust for regular exercise. It's something to look into.
  • I read an article that the downfall of using fitbit adjustment is that MFP doesn't subtract the calories you are alloted for being sedentary. It's the same issue with manually entering exercise calories. The calories burned may be correct but what about the 70-100 calories or so per hour that MFP allowed for just doing…
  • I like lean cuisine. I also use the FIT Kitchen frozen meals for lunch on a pinch. I try to make lunches over the weekend but don't always have time. I like the Healthy Choice steamers too. My emergency lunch is always 2 taco bell chicken soft tacos. The salts high but I make the rest of my food do its ok.
  • Please add me too! I'd love to cheer you guys on and need the support myself. I've been on here for quite a while but fallen off the wagon for a while. I've got around 30 lbs to go and I'm 43.
  • My trainer has me row for ten minutes then 1mile on the treadmill before weights, bands and free weights to warm me up and get my heart rate up. It stays up pretty well while I'm doing resistance. I do cardiovascular only on alternating days and swim an hour once a week. I'm trying to loose 30 more pounds while maintaining…
  • I fit it into my calorie budget but don't drink wine on days I don't go to the gym.

  • Muscles burn fat while fat does nothing. That is one reason to exercise - not just to burn calories but to build muscle mass (plus you'll look better). The only way to lose weight is calorie deficit whether by diet and/or exercise. Most of us in the gym will only burn a few hundred calories in a hour so adding in a 400…
  • Ask a trainer. I'm trying to shred fat and build some muscle. I do cardio one day 70-90 minutes and then resistance training the next. He has me doing 20 reps x 2 sets but some of the machines and bands are the same. So some of the muscle groups I do 100 reps. This is a super individual thing which is why I suggest a…
  • Start walking first and definitely get good shoes. I could only walk 2.5 to 3.0 mph a few months ago and started to build up as I lost weight and build up endurance. Hang in there.
  • This probably won't be a popular reply, but I was 110 lbs overweight and had gastric sleeve surgery last August since for years I would loose and gain the same 50 pounds. I intended to get a lapband but changed my mind. This helped me drop a bunch of weight while I changed my behavior. Today, I am 70 pounds lighter and…
  • 1. Light string cheese and Danon Light & Fit Greek yogurt are my go to snacks. If I want something crunchy I add unsalted slithered almonds to the yogurt. 2. When I don't go to the gym, I stream workout videos on Amazon Prime. There is a huge selection. 3. Good luck with this one - it took me months to get into the swing…
  • I skip the gym the day that it is the worst and I'll have a little of something I'm craving. If I'm scheduled for a weight training day I might swap it with my cardio routine since that is easier for me to do when I feel crappy. Sometimes I scale down the time as well. I try to make up for it afterwards. I also agree to…
