  • I just got my F6 last week and I'm absolutely loving it! It shows your resting HR and you can set it so it shows how many calories you're burning as you workout (you still see your HR at the same time). I've been working even harder than before and it gives me that little extra incentive to push it just a few more minutes…
  • Kobrie17 is right the rice bumps up the calories, but the Philly roll has cream cheese on it which doesn't help. When we need our sushi fix we order a couple of rolls and try to stick with sashimi (no rice) for the rest of the meal. Fill up with some Miso soup to start with! Hungry girl just posted something about this the…
  • I would just bring someting healthy to make for yourself. Since she's your friend and she already knows you're trying to be healthier I'm sure she'll understand. There will be plenty of other people to enjoy her casserole! I've gotten to the point where instead of constantly nagging my mother about eating healthy or asking…

  • I finally picked the Polar F6 and got mine on eBay for $83 w/shipping :) Yay! I just can't wait for it to get here!
  • I've been working on increasing my protein and fiber intake to feel more full. I have eggbeaters with a little salsa every morning and they're delish. Look for a lowfat turkey bacon too. I buy Esskay smoked turkey bacon and cook it in the oven. Yummy and filling :)
  • I absolutely love the butternut squash "french fries" and the lasagna made with eggplant and squash.
  • I have Dr. Oz's book "You on a Diet". Its a pretty good read and has a lot of good recipes (including this smoothie) in it. Until now I didn't realize Oprah's Dr. Oz was the same guy who wrote the book! :) Clearly I don't watch Oprah.
  • I can sympathize. My office has a kitchen in it that is always filled with brownies, cookies, or cakes that someone has brought in to share. We also have meetings 3 times per week where lunches are ordered and extra sandwiches/cookies/chips end up in the kitchen. It can be really frustrating but I just bring my lunch…
  • If you like that you should try Turkey Hill frozen yogurts. They have a new Mint Cookies N' Cream that is delish! 110 cal for 1/2 Cup. http://www.turkeyhill.com/products/frozen-yogurt.asp
  • I just got over a yucky cold and I continued to count calories while I was sick. I didn't stick as close to my count as usual though and indulged in a little extra comfort food once I was able to enjoy it again. I went over by about 300 calories one day but otherwise I was a good girl. I think staying conscious of what I'm…
  • I've been looking into the Polar HRMs and if you decide to go with one and you're going to use it at your gym where you've seen a lot of other people using HRMs you should think about paying more and going with the F11. It is a wireless signal that goes between the chest strap and the wrist and there can be interference…
  • At least he cooks :)
  • If he saved all the packages (what a sweet man!!) you should try http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp. You put in the ingredients and the serving size and it tells you the nutritional info. I absolutely love it :)

  • Squan - Calorie and kcal are the same thing :) So she has 270 Calories for dinner.
  • The Morning Star Black Bean burgers are awesome (there are also lots of recipes for making your own out there). Boca Chickn patties are excellent too. I especially like the spicy ones! I hated the regular Boca burgers at first also but I found the trick is to put some Worcestershire sauce and a little garlic powder on them…

  • There are a few recipes that I have come up with since I've started being more conscious of what I eat. Banana Pudding Cups http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=285143 Cabbage Soup http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=285147 Salmon Salad…
  • I made these last night and they were a hit!! Thanks for the recipe!
  • So can someone explain to me the pros and cons of a chest strap ?
  • Does anyone have any recommendations for a good heart rate monitor?
  • I love this video! My boyfriend and I have been doing it for a few weeks now. I haven't done the third level yet, Jillian is still kicking my butt  . I log it as general aerobics.
  • I'm not a vegetarian but I don't eat very much meat anymore. I love Boca Burgers, Boca Chikn patties, and Morningstar Black Bean Burgers. If you want to make something on your own any kind of bean adds a lot of protein. I make vegetarian black bean chili a lot, with or without Boca ground burger. I also make a lasagna…
  • Try this site http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp. They have a great recipe calculator!!
