Throw in my favorite brand. Puritan's Pride has Whey Isolate Protein in vanilla that, to me, is very good. Has the most protein per serving of any that I have looked at and the calorie count isn't bad with practically zero on the carbs. It is creamy when mixed with water and using a high speed blender.

IMHO, the one concern I would have is where are those 800-1000 calories coming from? You want to make sure that you are losing fat and not muscle in the process. You've come a long way. Keep up the good work.

Being a Type II diabetic I have found that having a high protein drink around 8PM keeps my fasting glucose levels normal in the AM and somewhat curbs the hunger pangs. Last regular meal is around 5-6 PM.

Since joining a gym and working out, what has been working for me is to make sure you are getting a sufficient amount of protein so that the calorie deficit is being made up by using body fat.
