Richard Hittleman's Yoga - 28 Day Exercise Plan It's supposed to take you gently from beginner to being able to do most of the basic exercises in 28 days. You obviously won't be able to perfect every pose at the most advanced level in that time, but it's a good start, and then you can keep practicing the poses until you've…

Yes, I'm just starting again, and I plan to use Slim Fast. It worked for me before when I had to get weight off after having 2 babies in 2 years. And I was able to keep it off for years. But I'm 39 now, and with time, I did put on some pounds again. Then I had surgery on my ankle, and am just getting mobile again after…

Also, if you're breastfeeding, I would up your base calorie intake to at least 1500 while you're breastfeeding. You're converting food and energy into food for your baby, so your body doesn't get that.

Many people don't eat back the calories they burn from exercise. So as long as you can just bump up your calorie intake to 1200 a day, that would be fine. Have a banana and yogurt for an evening snack if you need to.

I'm about to turn 40 in 2 months, that's close to 45. =) I have about 70 lbs to lose, but am confident I can do it, as I've done it before after having 2 kids in 2 years. I used Slim Fast so I could work on one meal at a time last time, and it worked great and I kept the weight off for years, but then it's slowly crept…

That's an excellent idea! Thanks! =)

I hate squats too, cuz I can't do 'em. Even without weights =(. Danged weak quads and hamstrings. Can't wait to get in shape and be able to do all the exercises =) BTW; any tips for getting legs strong enough to do squats without access to gym equipment?

Whether you should use lightly active or moderately active depends on how active the majority of your lifestyle is. If you're moving around most of the day, and getting in that 1/2 hr of exercise you should be able to increase it to moderately active. If you're unsure, try adding 100 calories to your daily allowance for up…

Great job on lowering your calories! That said, there is a good possibility of losing muscle by going too low. If you're less than 100 calories away, try having a banana for a healthy snack. Need a few more calories? Add a yogurt (like Yoplait or Activia, with the probiotics in them for even more nutrition.)

Yes, you can do that, and still lose the weight. I would caution about eating the calories you 'earn' from exercise, as most of the exercises seem to give too generous an amount of calories earned. You could possibly get in trouble here. I would recommend maybe eating half of them. On another note, you may find you're not…

Hi, I also turn 40 soon, at the end of April. Hoping I can lose 10 lbs by then as a good jump start to my weight loss (or inch-loss, as I'm really only concerned with how many inches I'm carrying, lol!) Glad to be part of this group! Send a friend request if ya like, it would be great to make some new friends on here =).

IMO - Walking is great exercise, if it's continuous. Sure normal routine of steps here and steps there are walking, but it's not like going out for a walk. I would only count walking that you don't normally do in your day to day routine. But if you want to go out for a nice 1/2 hr or so walk, that would be great.

Walking is an excellent exercise, as is swimming, and water aerobics. Walking is relaxing, while the swimming and water aerobics are more fun. Also, there are Exercise DVD's made for Seniors, which range in ability from only seated exercises for those who can't stand or keep balance well, to a more normal exercise routine.…

I'm with the "Satisfy Your Craving, but keep your daily calories right" crowd. If you crave it a lot, (or say, more than once a week) then decide on one day a week you can satisfy it. It's easier to pass it by if you say, "I'll have some on such and such day", and this keeps you from doing it too often. While you're losing…

Hi, my name is Misty, and I want my teenage body back! Okay, okay, as I'm about to turn 40 in April I know I won't actually have a teenagers body, but I do miss being thin, and I'm starting to develop a hanging jowl (which has GOT to go!) I originally started MFP in September, but 2 days after I started, I got hit by a…
