It's probably muscle mass that has grown since you started exercising. HIT will do that and it's a good thing, as all that extra muscle will burn extra fat when you're resting.

Very happy with my Ketonix. I immediately know when I've been eating too many carbs and when I'm on the right track. Of course the device is not cheap, but if you use it several times a day it'll end up costing much less than strips.
