  • Have you tried iifym (if it fits your macros)? It takes lifting into consideration and what your macro balance should be. Also I agree with mobility and flexibility stretches. I do a routine that works for me everytime I lift. My last and best advice would be to hire a trainer/coach, it was the best thing I did. Of course…
  • Yes, I agree with the above. I found that my goals have to be physical (everyone is different). My goal was to compete in my first powerlifting meet. August 2nd I placed 1st in my weight class and was so proud of myself. On the other hand I dropped an extra 10 lbs. while doing it and not even focusing on it. I have found…
  • Can definitely tell a difference! Great job, and having a young one at that. My advice is to be patient and pat yourself on the back.
  • I have a track at my gym so when doing long runs i do both track and treadmill to mix it up and that helps, not sure if you have this option though.
  • I also do the run/walk intervals and wouldn't do it any other way. When I train I take one day out of the week and just do sprinting, which has helped me pick up my pace. And yes you should do that half in February. After the race you'll be so pumped and motivated to do the other one! I love races. Good luck and have fun.
  • My trainer had me work my way up to TDEE before I went back down in calories. The reasoning behind that because my body was used to not having enough calories and to function optimally he wanted me to add till I hit it. It has worked for me so far and though it is a slow process it is one I can live with, without…
  • Excercise is never a problem for me, I feel bad if I dont get it in and feel great if I do. My troubles are my eating habits, they are horrible! So anytime I have a commitment it will have to do with food. My commitment for today will be to not go over my calorie goal. I burned 600 calories today + 1200. 1800 calories…
  • My friends and I are runners and we are always getting some kind of injuries so we always try to diagnose and treat eachother. I know, not a very good idea but we've learned from eachother about what works and what doesn't. My friend had bad shin splints, she took some days off but got right back at it. We decided it was…

  • Wow, what a stressful day. Last exam, and I was studying like crazy. All I wanted to do was fill my face but that has changed and I challenge not to go over my calorie limit. Thanks for changing my mentality! :)
  • Restarting insanity, finished it last month, and elliptical for a total of 60 minutes altogether.

I love to be active! I just dont look like it. lol. I'm doing a half marathon next monthe and a full marathon in October. I'm also…
  • Running is a great sport. There are tons of 5ks all the way up to full marathons throughtout the year. I use running for motivation. I have a half marathon coming up next month and a full in October. I also just got my friends into running also. They said they wouldnt be able to run and I told them to just trust me and Id…
  • I would calculate your max heart rate and different percentages. I would recommend using a heart rate monitor so you know your not overdoing it at 100%. Or just take your heart rate during the 30 second rest periods. Like the others said, you don't need to keep up with the people and my heart rate was way up there going at…
  • I highly disagree. If u love to run, run! Like you im overweight and i am faster than all my skinny friends, beat them in every race. Though if your having more than the usual workout pain, address the problem and get back to it.
  • One of my pet peeves is people thinking that when you are creating a healthier lifestyle they think automatically it's because you want to lose weight. Sure thats one of the reasons but the biggest reason is so I can keep up with my kids, not be out sick, less risk for diseases, basically a more fullfiliing and longer life.
  • That is a wonderful achievement and all on here know how much hard work and dedication you put into it. Let's face it, it's hard, especially when you do have the nay-sayers around. Just keep those healthy minded people around, like us! :)
  • I weighed myself in at 188.8. Higher than I thought it was but I haven't officially weighed in a while so this will be my starting weight.
  • I put 1 tablespoon on a chocolate rice cake. Filling and settles cravings for sweets.
  • Me too!
