@Grandmajackie - New Braunfels! Home of the German festival and Schliterbaun! Most excellent! Some of the best German food I've had was there. So beautiful this time of year with the Blue Bonnets. Just down the road from the hill country with some of the only clear rivers in Texas. Except for August, I think you're going…

Adding 11 miles for 44 out of 50.

@GrandmaJackie - sorry about the relationship but sometimes walking away ( or running ) is the best thing you can do. Feel free to vent if you need to. That said, where in Texas? I’ve lived in a few places in Texas. San Antonio was my favorite.

Adding 13 miles for 26 out of 50.

@Dave - Yes! It really does. Switched to flat pedals on the bike today and I was able to easily get to 50 watts for 30 minutes. I could have done more but I promised the PT I wouldn’t do more than 50 watts so that’s where I held it.

Adding 6.5 miles for 13 miles out of 50. Switched to flat pedals and it made a huge difference.

Adding 3.5 miles for 6.5 miles out of 50. Feeling better each time.

@Anaconda - I can really relate to the jumping through insurance hoops. Hang in there Sue. It will be worth it in the end.

Adding 2.5 miles for 3 miles out of 50. Much better results on today's rehab ride. 18 minutes.

Spent an hour and a half in surgery last night (I was the surgeon). Standing on this foot for that long has left my heal kind of painful. Frustrating. Guess it will be next week before I try the bike again. I start PT next week as well. I was really hoping when I got permission to put weight on it that recovery would be…

@Clepant - That's really nice of you to do that. It's especially hard when the spouse seems so wishy washy on doing what they said. I'm glad that at least it was fun and it really helps motivate your neighbor to get out and walk.

Rehab begins! Disappointed that I could only do 20 Watts for five minutes but that's better than no Watts for 0 minutes. That puts me on the board with 0.5 miles out of 50.

@janet. I hate when my day gets highjacked. I know tomorrow is another day but it’s still frustrating. Hopefully what happened today isn’t real bad and tomorrow will go as planned.
-
@Clepant - That is really nice of you. Hopefully she is picking up the poop as well.

29.5 hours of non weight bearing to go! 😁. If they extend the time they will need to put me on suicide watch. 😵💫

Starting to lift weights and do yoga in preparation of getting back on the bike. I'm thinking positive. The doctor is going to say I can start riding on a trainer starting Wednesday.

Going to shoot for 50 this month.

Did I miss the post for March?

6 days, 20 hours and 20 minutes to go before i see the orthopod again and hopefully get a walking boot. But who’s counting?

Sometimes animals heal in spite of us. Sometimes they heal because of us. Sometimes no matter how much we try, there is nothing we can do to keep them from crossing to the other side. My heart goes out to those who have lost their pets after terrific battles and to the technicians who bear the burden of trying so hard and…

@GrandmaJackie - Love the photos! Thanks for posting them. @Clepant - I can't believe that eye is still swollen! That's taking a lot longer to resolve than I would have expected. I can't imagine having blurred vision for that long. I really hope it gets better soon. 12 more days to my next appointment. The last four have…

@Anaconda - I hope you get your knee surgery soon. Recovery from my tendon surgery is a pain but it’s the first time in almost a year that I’ve been pain free. Right from surgery I’ve been pain free. I’ve also been following the doctors advice almost to a tee. He wanted me to take a month off from work but that wasn’t…

@Janet and @Dave - You guys are rock stars when it comes to this page. Never feel bad about missing a day. You have done such amazing work keeping this going. We all appreciate everything you do! 👍
-
@Dave - I have no idea how you did this! I’ve got three more weeks of non weight bearing and I’m dying!!! You are a rock star! I can already tell a size difference between my calf muscles. Love the photos. Parrots, Macaws, Conures, Cockatoos are all beautiful birds. I think you look great with the parrot on your…

@clepant I guess if I kept reading i would have know. 😂😂. We teat eye lid cellulitis all the time in dogs. Unless there is an injury we never do know what caused it. I’m glad you kept pushing. It can cause corneal ulcers leading to ruptured eyes and vision loss. It serious but usually resolves with antibiotics,…

@clepant - Ouch! Those are painful! What did the ER say it was? A plugged meibomian gland?
-
@janet - I figured you were kidding so I was just running with it. 😂 I was looking at e bikes last night but I don’t think my wife was as amused as I was. 😁
-
@Janet - If manage to get a walking boot before the end of the month I might add some miles but we'll see what they say on the 7th. I know I'm going to another splint and another two weeks of non weight bearing. However, I think I can get a walking boot starting on the 21st. We'll have to see what they say on the seventh.

Is that going to make them closer or further from you?
