Going to shoot for 50 this month.

Did I miss the post for March?

6 days, 20 hours and 20 minutes to go before i see the orthopod again and hopefully get a walking boot. But who’s counting?

Sometimes animals heal in spite of us. Sometimes they heal because of us. Sometimes no matter how much we try, there is nothing we can do to keep them from crossing to the other side. My heart goes out to those who have lost their pets after terrific battles and to the technicians who bear the burden of trying so hard and…

@GrandmaJackie - Love the photos! Thanks for posting them. @Clepant - I can't believe that eye is still swollen! That's taking a lot longer to resolve than I would have expected. I can't imagine having blurred vision for that long. I really hope it gets better soon. 12 more days to my next appointment. The last four have…

@Anaconda - I hope you get your knee surgery soon. Recovery from my tendon surgery is a pain but it’s the first time in almost a year that I’ve been pain free. Right from surgery I’ve been pain free. I’ve also been following the doctors advice almost to a tee. He wanted me to take a month off from work but that wasn’t…

@Janet and @Dave - You guys are rock stars when it comes to this page. Never feel bad about missing a day. You have done such amazing work keeping this going. We all appreciate everything you do! 👍
-
@Dave - I have no idea how you did this! I’ve got three more weeks of non weight bearing and I’m dying!!! You are a rock star! I can already tell a size difference between my calf muscles. Love the photos. Parrots, Macaws, Conures, Cockatoos are all beautiful birds. I think you look great with the parrot on your…

@clepant I guess if I kept reading i would have know. 😂😂. We teat eye lid cellulitis all the time in dogs. Unless there is an injury we never do know what caused it. I’m glad you kept pushing. It can cause corneal ulcers leading to ruptured eyes and vision loss. It serious but usually resolves with antibiotics,…

@clepant - Ouch! Those are painful! What did the ER say it was? A plugged meibomian gland?
-
@janet - I figured you were kidding so I was just running with it. 😂 I was looking at e bikes last night but I don’t think my wife was as amused as I was. 😁
-
@Janet - If manage to get a walking boot before the end of the month I might add some miles but we'll see what they say on the 7th. I know I'm going to another splint and another two weeks of non weight bearing. However, I think I can get a walking boot starting on the 21st. We'll have to see what they say on the seventh.
-
Is that going to make them closer or further from you?
-
Not going to do any miles. If I put zero for goal can I say I made goal? 😂. Just kidding. Just bookmarking the month so it’s easier to find.

Too much using the foot. It swelled up. I had to cut the splint and wrap it again. I’ll have to get back in to the surgeon this week and have it splinted again.

First night at work post surgery. It was an adventure figuring out how to do things without one foot. 🤪. Even figuring out how to get into the bathrooms was an adventure. They are tiny bathrooms build in the 1970s. Crutches required. Scooters won’t fit. The poor techs. Bless their hearts. They had to pick up even the big…

@clepant - love the photo of Brinkley. 😊

Surgery is done. Four weeks of no weight bearing. First time since August I’ve been pain free.

That's going to be it for me for quite some time. Went back to the orthopod yesterday. Looks like it is surgery for me. They are going to cut out the bad part of my achilles tendon and attach it back to my heal. They will scrape out the calcifications as well. Looks like it will be at least four weeks with no weight…

It was sunny and a balmy -22 degrees F this morning. Expecting 8 inches of snow by tomorrow evening.

Lost a vet so I'm back to working seven days a week, 14 hour days. I'll shoot for 300 miles but it's going to be close. Commuting will help.

@Clepant - I agree with Janet, Yikes! That really sucks. Hope it resolves quickly.
