I'm more motivated by being able to DO things (keep up with my kids, be able to run a few miles, be able to go hiking without getting out of breath, be able to lift the things I need and want to, etc.) than the way I look, but I do want to look better also. The other big issue is my health. Cardiovascular disease runs in…

I would suggest talking to your doctor instead of MFP about this, as it sounds like you have other issues (digestive problems) that might be causing your difficulty with weight gain. These might be treatable or not, but no one here will be able to help with that, unfortunately. Wishing you all the best for improved health!

Of all the things to gripe about when it comes to the American school system, this is what school administrators gripe about?

It helped for me only temporarily (6 months or so). The problem was that my weight was not the source of my depression. I think the best thing you can do is keep working with your doctor and/or therapist to help address what's going on and heal from the inside out. The good news is that healing on the inside often helps…

I'd advise to try MFP as is for at least a month. Get used to weighing/measuring your food and being consistent with whatever exercise plan you think you can keep doing. Start easy with just 0.5-1 lb per week loss setting. Ease into things, and you'll find that weight loss isn't so hard or so painful as massively…

^ This. The Sleeping Beauty books were repulsive, content wise, to me, but the quality of the writing was good at least.

This is pretty much the best review of the film I've seen sofar. http://www.vox.com/2015/2/14/8038261/50-shades-of-grey-movie-review "What began as a tale of a young woman falling in love with an older gentleman with kinky tastes has morphed and twisted in the hands of director Sam Taylor-Johnson into a story that involves…

This reminds me of those warning labels on strollers that say, "remove child before folding."

Of all the things to get worked up about in the world, this is what some choose to waste their energy on?

Well of course. There's no Monsanto in the Himalayas.

I saw an ad today for GMO-free salt... yeah. Not this particular brand, but similar labeling. Also labeled "gluten free" LOL!

I can't imagine going through life eternally offended by everything. What a sad way to live.

LOL nice. These are hilarious too: http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-200-500mm-Ultra-Telephoto-Canon-Cameras/dp/B0013D8VDQ/ref=pd_sim_sbs_p_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0XCMDF3Z8TKKHBHFEG0K Some quotes: "I know, carrying a 37lb lens around may seem like a chore, but the savings in gas to drive to photo shoots more than compensates for it."…

^ That for sure. Guy sounds like a creepy SOB.

Good strong molasses is wonderful in meat glazes and baked beans. Now I'm hungry, again... Carry on with sugar rant (err debate)

You could just eat less or choose lighter options (salads, grilled chicken sandwich, etc.). Packing food is a lot cheaper and better if you can do it.

I think all of us have felt this way starting out. The best thing you can do is just move forward and try not to beat yourself up too much. There's not really such a thing as a "natural" athlete. Athletes work their butts off to be athletes for many many years, and it's not just a gift. Secondly, 600 calories per day is…

I think people respond to the word "addict" pretty ferociously on this site. Some, who have themselves or have had relatives struggling with addiction, feel that throwing the word around as a synonym for "craving" is belittling. This can provoke some visceral reactions with people and starts a lot of arguments on here.…
