Lentils! Try Westbrae Organic Canned Lentils. Add some salt & you're good to go. I also love black eyed peas... I got SUPER-sick of beans about 3 weeks in. Then I started buying verde salsa & drenched the black beans or whatever in it, and I am now happy again!

@msBiz: sounds like you will have fun today! enjoy! if you read back over the experience of people on this board, you will notice some drop drastically, but most of us have seemed to lose 1 lb or 1/2 lb/week. it does seem a bit depressing when you look at it that way, but i see baby steps as great, particularly as i have…

@msbiz: hi! welcome! sorry to hear you are discouraged! did you mean 9 inches or 9 lbs lost? can you clarify? if 9 inches, that is pretty amazing! the diet results in body recomposition, so do you think that might be a factor here? i'm not an expert on the diet, i will let other folks handle that. but i will share my…

tru 'dat. i guess i am afraid to lose more than 1 lb/week. weird, huh? if it's progressive, i keep up emotionally & my closet can handle the weight loss. but if too fast, i can't change my psyche along with my body. so, circumference & product updates... circumference: my favorite jeans are now falling off, hard to keep…

amen. applause for diversity. let's let this board work for everyone, no matter how we eat. freedom of speech, & all that good stuff. tim mentions cottage cheese, yogurt and buttermilk (fermented stuff), along with citrus throughout the book, recommending them at different times, and then saying to abstain at others. i…

My Sketchers Shape-ups definitely worked on my butt. 100% no question. I only had a butt like that before when I was doing squats at the gym. The first time I wore them for a long time my legs were super sore, so I know they worked. I wouldn't say they work for weight loss, and they are unstable. But if you want more butt…

Yes, it works ok for me...

i have had similar gains afterward. i think this has happened to me a few times. i am thinking to just weigh self on saturday morning b/c too much weighing = too much needless attention on the fleeting H20 weight...

well, in spite of my earlier discouragement this week, i DID lose weight after all. i wasn't home to weigh-in on early cheat-day, but the night before i weighed in at nearly 1/2 lb under my lowest weight so far. maybe next week i will be able to tell what my new baseline is. i am happy with 1/2 lbs. anything that is not…

well, a bit of a progress update. i was discouraged this week, gained back a couple lbs, sick of the diet (as i am eating mostly vegetarian), and generally unhappy with my progress. until this morning. when i put on my rain-coat, that i was going to have altered. the belt has always sat too high on my waist, and it is…

good point. tim mentions that skipping cheat day on a regular basis is unhealthy for women, especially...i guess it messes up the hormonal balance if we don't return to normal regularly.

this isn't what you asked but just to make you feel better...i've never noticed coffee breath on a guy i dated, ever. garlic, yes. smoking, yes. morning breath, yes, but coffee, never. in fact, if i did, i would consider it kinda sexy. but never a problem like some of the other stuff. maybe you don't like the taste of…

i have stopped using sugarless gum completely due to side effects. i won't go into detail. :blushing: googling will yield more information, but this is one example... http://www.livestrong.com/article/334306-xylitol-gum-side-effects/ as to "rule", i don't recall any...but i might have missed it.

hey everyone, i just thought i'd share some stuff i've been trying...& give a progress report. 1. ghee - this is really rich. but good. i have used it a couple times to fry or scramble eggs in. you don't need much, just a little bit. 2. macadamia nut oil - i haven't tried this on eggs yet, but i sauteed garlic in it. it…
