Because your body is actually better geared for survival than those who store fat with more difficulty. Fat is a resource for your body in times of scarcity. You've just got better genes!! :D The easy solution is to move more so you can eat more. What MFP is all about. ^ Huh? Silly. Then you list some diets you're on that…

Just throwing in another suggestion to start with "Starting Strength" (buy the print book and possibly the related DVD which walks through doing the exercises step by step), or "StrongLifts" (which is a modified SS). I fooled around with P90x, Tacfit, and a bunch of other programs before finding the compound barbell…

I've been avoiding processed/refined sugar for months now, and I have to say it's great. Once you ditch the overly sweet refined sugar all the natural sugars start to jump out as super sweet and you no longer crave the refined stuff, its "sickly" sweet. I've heard a lot of references to refined sugar possibly causing…

I use ON Natural 100% Whey and like it a lot. I mix it with Milk (whole or 2%) or water depending on my macros at the time. Easy to throw that in the blender with some fruit too.

Also it could be (gross I know) intestinal parasites… there are protocols for dealing with that but I don't have any firsthand experience. I know they usually involve fasting and taking special supplements (usually natural).

I'm surprised only one (could be wrong) person in this thread has suggested this.. but. Probiotics, probiotics, probiotics. For sure make a Dr's appointment ASAP to be checked out for cancer, IBS, Crohns, etc.. BUT try probiotics! It's something you can get started on right away with no insurance. If your intestinal…

Just try to eat whole foods as much as possible. It's hard to go wrong. I'd only avoid processed sugar.

Oh yeah. Most all that's been said above, plus Gojira, All Shall Perish, Bloodbath, Carnifex, Suicide Silence, and many more.

OP, thank you so much for your brutal honesty and exhibition. I grew up obese (6'3" 265lbs) and have been down to 165lbs and have the problem as well (though not as bad). In all my searching on the internet I don't think I've come across a thread as open and honest about this issue as this one. Thanks again.

Do some research on it's effect on those predisposed to hair loss. It is not completely without side effects. I use it even though I have male pattern baldness because I don't give a damn and shave my head, but my partner had to stop losing it because she lost some hair. She stopped the creatine and her hair grew back. No…

September, but between holiday binging and cutting again it's about the same… =)

Motivation is only a temporary fuel you can use to build discipline. Discipline is what you need to cultivate. Working out needs to become a habit. 3, 3, 3 is one way to go for discipline/habit building. Use your motivation to commit for 3 days. When you get to the third day, commit to 3 weeks. At the end of the 3 weeks,…

Hey Brenda, I'm in a similar situation in that my partner is not tracking their food and does not want to, but I need to in order to make progress. She's also mostly vegetarian while I am omnivore. Unfortunately the way we've resolved this is to buy separate groceries and cook our own meals. I guess this works well for us…

Chin-ups and pull-ups are actually part of SS, and can either be done after power cleans on "B" day, or with back extensions if power cleans and deadlifts are alternating on "A" day. The Pendlay barbell rows are also mentioned in SS in the ancillary exercises, though they aren't part of the official novice programs. Either…
