Cleanses are not needed, just eat clean & at a deficit & you'll be fine. Sure you'll lose some weight because in some cases your eating less than 300 cals a day & losing a ton of water but you'll just gain the weight back after proceeding with your normal diet.

This^ If you go on to get the surgery with this mindset you're just going to gain back any weight that you lose anyway...Quit making excuses. This is a huge thread so it's probably already been mentioned but the whole female thing where they think they'll be the size of Kai Greene if they do any kind of strength training. They have no idea how hard a physique like that is to attain.

Most nuts/butters are gonna be pretty calorie dense so it'd be wise to have it in moderation. How does it fit into the rest of your diet?

It works. I'm not an advocate of it but it does. Also, the body can obtain all its energy from protein and fats, carbs aren't essential.

Didn't read the thread but I'm pretty sure most Whey Protein products aren't gender specific. At least the ones I know of. Try Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard. Goes down well & is a great product.

Try some complex carbohydrates that will take longer to digest & keep you fuller longer. Don't buy the bad foods that you know you'll binge on. Some people fair better @ night, some during the morning/day. Since youre just starting out I'd suggest to get it in whenever you can. Try keeping your carbs lower on off days. & try to eat as clean as you can on your off days.

What are the macro nutrients for that? Make sure to drink a lot of water, & try not to drink your calories. Good luck!

Try some calorie dense foods with some good nutrients in them. Nuts come to mind, just don't over do it.

I've had good results with taking a week off from workouts & just kept my diet completely clean. Congrats on your loss, that is an astonishing accomplishment.

A good amount of the weight might have been water. keep working hard, you'll see results soon enough. The results will never be linear, often monotonous, but if you keep at it you'll see your work pay off. Have fun.

Margarine is a worse alternative than butter... & if you need PB switch to something natural. She didn't say the foods you are eating are high in calories, she said they are empty calories. Not a lot of nutritional value for the calories youre eating.

Your weight loss will never be linear, youre not gonna lose .5 or 1 LB consistently til you get to your goal weight no matter what the estimations say. Doesn't work that way. It's a lot of ups & downs for numerous reasons.

Because why would I not want to be better than I was yesterday? Why would I not want improve? Why wouldn't I want to train harder, eat better, & be a better person than I was yesterday? I think about the opportunities I have, & how far too invested I am to fail.
