Been averaging four to five 2.5km swims a week. This week started some sprints. So a 2.5 km on Monday, sprints on Tuesday and a 2.5 km swim today! 4 or so kilos down over the last 3 months. Slower progress then I'd hoped but I'll take it. Hopefully the sprints will help to jig my metabolism around Abit. NSV - 2 notches…

Good week. 4 swims this week. Total 10km This week my focus has been Working on when to punch the power in the stroke. Previously power has been kicking in the moment hand enters water even while the hand still outstretched forward.. Now shifting the main power to when the hand has moved more in the water and into the…

Back in the pool! My old finis Neptune eventually fell apart from heavy use. Thought about buying it's upgrade the finis duo but decided to test out a much cheaper induction headset the tayogo 8gb. It's working great, but only two swims in, so it's early days yet!

Hi there! Abit late in the day but as @girlwithcurls2 I'm a fan of bone conduction. I'll try and revive an old post on this. I've always had problems with earphones staying in my ears on land let alone in the pool. Also because I dont wear a swim cap it would make it harder for them to stay in. Got a finis Neptune Neptune…

Greetings folks. So I’m back after a year away, and really 2 years of not swimming consistently. Gained back all the weight I lost too in the process :-) so I’m back on the wagon. Although haven’t posted here, restarted 2 months ago literally swimming 3-400m Trying to do 4-5 swims a week, and now back to 2.5 km per session…

I had a Neptune Finis (bone conduction) which I love. Now looking to replace it with the newer version from Finis. Forget the name of the thing! No problems with ear buds falling out, etc

I bought my Neptune second hand online two and a half years ago. It's served me well, but now down to only one side playing. So I'll probably have to get a new one soon! Probably the successor to this one - The Duo

Interesting. Will check it out!

Greetings folks and good to see everyone swimming away. Been away awhile, but swimming even when not logged, though been quite inconsistent for various reasons. As a result, I now have at least 7 kilos to lose, so down we go again ...

That really is amazing. That is why swimming is my exercise of choice, and should the good Lord allow me another 50 years or more, I hope to be swimming all through the years!

Wow just revisiting this thread and I realize it's now been 2 years since I made the conscious decision to crank up the stroke rate. Wasn't swimming consistently for the second half of last year, and back to it this year. Safe to say, I'm now a default 67 strokes per minute swimmer. It's taken much of those two years to…

So I came across this in a swim smooth email and checked out the site. I definitely see one of these in my future! It talks to you as you swim analyzing stroke rate, etc, giving real time feedback and offering tips as you swim! Wow! How amazing is that? Woah! http://platysens.com/marlin/

@juliet3455 lovely to see all the pictures. Looked like fun! Cold fun :-)

Been swimming four or 5 times a week. 2.5km per session. Glad to log in and see all the activity on here!

I use the Garmin swim for the daily swims too! Works well for me. Lap counting is accurate unless you stop mid length or run into folks swimming width wise, as was said above already by nuffer! Only problem is I've misplaced the thing that connects to the computer, so I can't use all the nifty graphs for the time being,…

2.5 km in a 50 metre pool!

Greetings folks! I've been out for months. Other than a week or two off I've been swimming pretty much without any break until sometime last year I was out for months. So back at it this year despite some problems with gout and back issues and have gradually worked my way back to a daily 2.5km swim Lol imagine what it…

So I've posted SwimmyDs post on this link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10324374/rotator-cuff-strain Hope admin @Bruceapple can make that link a sticky topic!!!

And it seems the shorter you are, the more you benefit from a higher stroke rate! Females benefit more too!!! :+1:

Great to see all the great swims on here. Noel dropping 4 minutes overnight, Gutzy finding a pool, Robertus doing a 10km, Juliet with the upped intensity, and all the other great stuff going on! Missed a lot I see! Sorry about losing the coach Emma! What'll you guys do?
