Don't you just love backhanded compliments that are actually more insults than a compliment. 9 yrs ago I worked in a restaurant and lost a considerable amount of weight so I had a lot of customers complimenting me and commenting - Here are 2 of the WORST ones ----> Customer - "Oh wow, you look much better now!!!" Me -…

AMAZING!! Your my hero ladyhawk00!!
-
Thanks so much for sharing your story! You have a wonderful way of explaining "the ways of the MFP forum" debates!! I'm always excited when I see a post from ladyhawk00!!!!

I agree! Keep doing it!! It does get easier!! I also do Turbo Jam which is comparable to Tae Bo, actually I find the time goes faster with Turbo Jam!! But I love them both!!!!!

One of my absolute FAVE books which I am currently reading for the second time - is "Outwit Your Weight" by Cathy Nonas R.D - it's real advice, real tools for losing weight and keeping it off, with real testimonials and stories from people who have lost weight and kept it off. It also has "maintenance" advice, and healthy…

The closer you are to your goal weight, the harder it will become to lose weight. A 2 lbs a week goal is for someone who has 75 pounds or more to lose - if you have less then that then a 2 pound goal may not work for you. Weightloss is not meant to be a "fast" process - gaining weight didn't just happen over night…

THANK YOU BANKS!!!!!!! Once again, well said!!! BRAVO!!!!!

One step at a time :) Remember this is your journey and yours alone!! It is not a competition!! I started slowly, and just kept pushing myself a little harder week after week! Sometimes I find that my MFP friends postings on their workouts etc encourage me to push a little harder or try something new!! But you need to do…

Well said!! There is always so much confusion as to what the 1200 means - it really has nothing to do with "starvation mode" but more to do with everyones nutritional needs being met!!! Or should I say women in general, I believe for men it's around 1500 or 1800 calories!

.8 pounds a DAY is freaking AMAZING!!! Don't be discouraged b/c the scale didn't show a loss for one week - and if you think it's because you didn't track for that weekend then just keep that in mind the next time you don't feel like tracking!!! I track every day, even my WORST days!!! LOL!! Hard to do, but I know that in…

You are AMAZING!! And I agree with you whole heartedly - if I had to GIVE UP everything this wouldn't be working for me!!!! This is a forever journey not just a "goal" oriented journey - and LIFE happens!!! You go girl!!! You ROCK!!!!!!
-
Want to know my HONEST opinion. I don't think Doctors know EVERYTHING when it comes to weightloss - they are just as confused and in the dark as us regular folks!!! So you know what I would do if I was in your situation. I would TRUST MFP!! I would eat 2500 calories a day, plus at least half of my excersise calories back…

MFP all ready gives you a calorie deficit for weightloss, that doesn't include doing any excersise! Basically the site is set up so that you will lose weight without excersising! So just eat your allotted daily calories and it should be smooth sailing!! Just focus on recovering from your surgery!!

I was having the same issue to I talked to a nutritionist about it. She says not to worry so much about HOW much sugar your eating but WHERE it is coming from. Whether it's from natural sources or added sugar. Dairy for example has natural sugars, as does fruit and some veggies. Don't worry so much about those. Now if I go…

I'd go with oats, unless the bread crumbs are 100% whole wheat or whole grain or something! If they are white, then they are adding no nutritional value at all!!!!
-
LOL a small bale of hay isn't really that "small"!!!! I've lost 200 golf balls since starting MFP - in total I've lost an elephant's heart + a guinea pig!
-
Ooooh! I love quotes of all kinds, especially motivational and life altering quotes!! Thanks for posting these!!
-
MMMMM That looks DELISH!!!

Cottage Cheese!!

Looking AMAZING!! I was just checking out Turbo Fire today - need to convince myself that spending the $$$ would be worth it!!! Still cheaper than a 6 month gym membership - I'll convince myself yet!! I've been doing Turbo Jam and LOVING it!! But would like a "similar" yet "different" work out to mix things up!!! Can't…
-
Totally agree!! But it's true if someone isn't ready to do it themselves then there is not a lot you can do for them. It is hard - #1 to be honest about how many calories consumed in a day and #2 to be honest about the issues/pain/insecurities etc. that got us "here" in the first place! Weight loss is about more then just…

When I started this journey in 3 months ago it was Winter and the regular temp was -35/-40 with the windchill - couldn't afford a gym membership and there was NO way I was walking outside and getting frost bite!!! So I just started walking on the spot in my living room while watching t.v - I'd do that for an hour or so a…

Prettty interesting to see how different people look even though they are the same height and weight! It's all in how you carry it I guess!! :)

I'm from Southern Manitoba!!

I personally have been eating back at least half, if not all of my excersise calories since I started MFP 13 weeks ago - I have my goal set at a 1 pound loss per week but have been losing 1.7 pounds a week on average - 22 pounds to date (next weigh in this Friday) I rarely go under my alloted calories for the day - if I do…
