  • Start hitting the heavy weights (not body pump) or do HIIT if you want to break the plateau. Body Combat is just another cardio class.
  • i think it is funny how people say that crossfitters have bad form. They need to remember that each Box is different. Some emphasize form over anything else. I have had coaches that won't let anyone do kipping pull ups/dips unless they can demonstrate they can do strict the strict version. The same coaches will tell the…
  • The article also states: "For a deconditioned woman looking to get back into fitness, BodyPump could be a good choice. The program is available worldwide, involves group motivation, and simple exercises. The science shows that while she may want to include some additional aerobic activity, BodyPump will increase a…
  • i did both. I did Body Pump for 1 1/2 hears 3-4x week. I usually used heavy weights. It is okay if you are afraid to go to the weight room and/or don't do any "strength" training. If you are serious about obtaining strength, I suggest that you learn the proper forms on who to do the basic lift Dead lift, back squat, bench…
  • 5'0 on a good day; 135 lbs 265 Dead lift 225 back squat 145 Front Squat 115 split jerk 115 Bench 105 shoulder press 85 snatch 110 clean 100 pull ups (strict pull ups from dead hang w/30 min) 200 push ups (chest to floor tricep style w/20 min)
  • I did it. Not work the extra $$$. You can do most of that workouts on your own. I would rather pay for a coach/ trainer to get one on one treatment. LM Grit is just HIIT. You can get HIIT workouts on line for free.
  • i have tried KT tape and Rocktape. Rocktape stays on longer (several days). KT tape falls off quickly. I have used Rocktape swimming and it did not come off!!!

  • I stopped doing both and it was the best thing ever. It took a long time to correct the poor form that I picked up at body pump. After being coached by Olympic lifters and Crossfitters, my form has improved. During the 2 yrs of BP, no one ever came up to correct anyone's form. During 2 years, I have watched instructors who…
  • highly recommend Rocktape. I have pulled both calves, have tendonitis and bursitis on both shoulders, and carpal tunnel. With Rocktape, I still workout hard 6-7 times a week. No problem w/ doing 100-150 pull ups in one training session w/ the Rocktape. Workouts: heaving lifting, swim, bike, run, crossfit.

  • As a woman, you can't "bulk" up. You don't have enough testosterone to do so. BP (I took it 3-4x /wk for 1 1/2 years) will not make you "bulky". It is mainly a cardio class. The class is not geared to be "heavy lifting". You won't get "big muscles" especially at the weights you use. You may want to incorporate a strength…
  • That is great for you. The place I took BP has the "National trainers" teaching class. I have been to a lot of other gyms that teach BP and the same thing. Most don't correct the form. Besides when instructor is actually doing the moves themselves, hard for them to watch all the poor forms. Like I said, I picked some "bad"…
  • I totally agree. If you don't know the correct form, this is not place to learn. I have heard from Body Pump instructors that they are not allowed to go up to people to correct their form because it puts people 'on the spot". I took the class 3x week for 1 1/2 years. Now I don't and just do heavy lifts/ HIIT/ Crossfit etx.…
  • That is why I do heavy lifts, HIIT, distance/ sprint runs, and crossfit. Better results (strength, decreased BF %, endurance, etc.) in the same amount of time. BP is good if your new to weights or don't normally lift weights. I do have experience in BP took it for 1 1/2 years (3+ week). I used 6 large and 2 med (77 lbs) in…
  • I agree. I can burn than running for a shorter period of time. Why waste 1 hour for just 250- 300 calories.
  • BP is more of a "steady state" cardio workout. A more effective way to burn fat is HIIT
