  • OP - I’m also turning 51 in April and can say that after successfully losing 20-30 pounds TWICE in the last 9 years—— this time around is INSANELY harder. Since I have done this before I know how to do it but it honestly feels like something in my body is fighting against me now. I’m still trying though if for no other…
  • Just wanted to say how sorry I am for all you have recently been through! I lost my mom suddenly in February 2020. That in itself is tough, but your physical injuries sound so very challenging. Good advice has been given above, I look forward to your success story! Hugs…
  • @sijomial Thanks for your response! I should have been more clear... I do eat some of the calories back, just not all of the “half” that I marked down as earned. I tried the link that was provided above and may start using that.
  • I bought a new treadmill this spring and paid over $1K for it, and found out there’s nowhere to put my weight in, I evidently have to pay another fee for iFit to get those features. Um... no. I was sooo mad. I don’t eat back even half my calories now because I have no idea how close it is. I assumed all new treadmills had…
  • Love love love your story!!!
  • Love seeing these updates! Keep up the great work!

  • Same here! Passed my goal Wednesday. But not only is it Easter on Sunday, it’s also my birthday. Double whammy. I plan on enjoying the day with family anyway. 46 will be awesome (right?)!
  • My mom is battling multiple myeloma so I can somewhat understand. I don’t have advice as far as trying to lose weight while dealing with it, but just wanted to praise you for trying to juggle it all. I truly believe a healthier body will help with the fight. Best wishes!!
  • I used getting back into my wedding dress as a goal and did it! It was so much fun getting it out periodically and seeing how much further the zipper went compared to the previous try. It also gave my then 7 year old daughter several opportunities to try it on. The best motivational idea ever!!! I never had a goal weight,…
  • Loved reading these!
  • You CAN do this! Please drop the perfectionist thinking. You are human and there will be ups and downs (downs even when you have been spot on with your eating and exercise). There are going to be times you feel like giving up... but when you continue to keep at it... that’s when you win!
  • I’m also on my last three pounds to lose. It seems like my body is saying this is where I should be. My birthday is in six weeks. Promised myself a new pair of shoes I’ve had my eyes on if I can reach it, even if it’s just for one magical day :). Like someone posted earlier, we may have already reached our goal!
  • 45 right here. I joined MFP back in 2013 and lost 30 lbs. Kept it off for three years but my bad habits returned and I gained them back. So here I am again because I know it works. Down 15 pounds and I think I’ll be alright with just a couple more gone. Where I was after losing those 30 pounds was unrealistic to maintain.…
  • I don't think it's harder the second time around, but it is taking me longer. That doesn't bother me though because I know the process works. Just need to be patient.
  • What happens when you start allowing the "banned" foods back in your diet after the 30 days?
  • Other than making sure I hit my protein goal for the day, I don't worry about anything but calories right now. And while it sounds hard (but isn't!), accurately measuring and weighing what you eat is the key. I absolutely love what you said about the crappy good stuff vs the good crappy stuff. Lol
  • I look forward to seeing the number it spits out - I don't click on it if I'm over calories for the day;). For me it's motivation. Whether it's accurate or not. If MFP thinks I can do it, then so do I
  • Look how far you've come!!! I agree, take a day, or several, off from logging. Test your maintenance routine out for a bit. Just remember your long term goal. Even a short term goal of getting out of the 200s. Plan on a reward for hitting the 100s! Good luck!
  • The only bad workout is one you didn't do ;)
  • I'm in, this is exactly what my goal is! Feel free to add me
  • No loss this week, but no gain either. I'm still motivated! Tried on some shorts from last year for an upcoming trip and thankfully they still fit. So that's a plus
  • I would love to be part of a group, I'm admitting finally that I need some extra support. I lost 30 lbs 3 years ago using MFP and felt great! Even maintained it for a couple of years. After dealing with some family medical issues and holidays, those 30 lbs found me in a year. I want that old me back! How do we join a…
  • Thanks everyone! As the day has gone by I don't think it's going to be as bad as the last time I hurt it, I hope I can start walking on it again sooner than I thought. I love having a support group like this, great advice. Thanks again :)
