Hey Tim, I am not in Georgetown, but am from Central Alberta, so at least it's the same country! I find the support of friends on MFP invaluable! If you'd like to add me as a friend, please do so!

I am proud of you too! What amazing changes you have already made! I used food as "something I deserved" too. Now I use my exercise time as "just for me". It is harder than reaching for that bag of chips, but it is so rewarding! Congratulations, I am glad you found this site!

What a wonderful introduction to you! I admire your honesty, that has been the hardest part for me. As mothers we do put ourselves last, especially with a busy work life. I tend to put myself last too. I am learning to get moving, go for a walk or run when I am feeling rotten, and also to say "I'll do that for you when I…

I hear ya! I have mistaken proper "serving sizes" for years. What I dislike is the manufacturer only listing calories for a certain portion, not the container when that item is sold as a single serve, such as soft drinks. Seems dishonest to me...

I have a Fitbit One, and I love it! I bought mine at best buy. I would have rather have boughten the Flex, but it isn't available in Canada. With the flex it is always around your wrist, I sometimes forget to put my One on first thing in the morning before my run, that is frustrating!

Hi Rosie!! I always log too. I would love to be friends, add me!

Hey Bee! Your goals are similar to mine. I am not here only to lose weight, I am learning to change my eating & exercise habits. I do not "eat clean" as I have at other times in my life when I have lost weight and then gained it back. This time around, I try to stay within my daily calories, but allow myself the occasional…

I did not use the correct wording when I posted. Let me clarify, a pound of muscle takes up less physical space than a pound of muscle. As we exercise we lose fat but gain muscle becoming toned, therefore clothing becomes looser. Please forgive my incorrct statement.

thanks for clarifying, sorry my wording offended!

The stupidest thing I have ever heard about weight loss came from my mother-in-law. She is obese and has been for 38 years. She said everyone compared her to Elizabeth Taylor, and it really was a good thing she gained weight or she might have had extramarital affairs... good grief!

False I've never worn clothes from the opposite sex

Hey there! I listened to a celebrity trainer yesterday and he said you should go more by the fit of your clothes than by pounds. If you have been working out your body is shifting, fat is turning into muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. My experience, I am losing but very slowly. I have however gone down 3 clothing…

Steph, You are fabulous! You have worked so hard to get to where you are. I am so sorry for the cruelty of mean, jealous people. I cannot imagine how I would feel if this had happened to me. Find a new friend who shares your interest in fitness. You will encourage each other. REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE DOING THIS FOR!!!!!!!!!…

Hey there Trying! I felt the same way at about 6 weeks into logging everyday. For the first time in my life (i am 44) my goal is to change the way I view exercise and eating. Why am I eating, how much am I eating and what I am eating. I feel like I have learnt so much about myself and slowly (very slowly) I am making small…

Hi Dale, I am a 44 year old woman, my husband and I own and operate a 500 head cattle ranch in Alberta, usually my days are quite active. I started running several months ago and love how I feel. Logging is imperative for me, the support of good friends on MFP make all the difference.
