  • Several different times in my life. 1. My brother, when we were both around 10-12 years old (I the older one) literally poking my stomach rolls which fell over the strap of my seatbelt. Calling me fat. 2. Around 14, asking my mom what these lines on my thighs and butt were -- then bright purple and looking like bolts of…
  • I've been "Paleo" for about six months now, and it's wonderful. Granted, I don't follow it perfectly (no one can, I feel), but my skin is glowing, workouts are easier, and I'm far less bloated. Not to mention, weight loss!! It's fluctuated a bit with holidays and seasons, but I'm smaller than where I started. You should…
  • I'm sorry I do not have any experiences to recall, but I LOVE your profile photo, Xdinmammax.
  • I do pretty much the same thing as you, OP! I think about the food, I see the food, smell the food, touch itttttt...but remember that it will still be there (if not in this same exact form, but you know, it'll exist) in a day, in two days, in a week, two weeks, a month, etc. I keep a little list on my iPhone of all the…
  • We just need to accept ourselves and each other. No labels necessary, just respecting our own and each other's bodies. This is a long time away (if it were to ever happen), but it would prevent everything from eating disorders to self-harm to binging to hate crime, you know? Just be good to each other and yourself. Edited…
  • Unfortunately, some are better than others, but you do what you need to. Here's a haphazard ranking. 1. Diet Coke :( 2. Unsweetened chocolate almond milk (45 calorie servings!) 3. Frozen raspberries/blueberries/strawberries 4. Stevia 5. Spinach 6. Tomatoes of all kinds! 7. Feta cheese 8. Gluten-free (corn) pasta 9. Greek…
  • Sorry to revive a thread so old, but it seems cool. More people should answer!! (Honestly!) I try to eat to mostly "paleo" principles because it's impossible to actually eat paleo, in my opinion. This means my diet is founded in vegetables and leaner proteins. I am not as big a fan of eggs and bacon as every advanced paleo…
  • Maybe. But for people dieting, diabetic, or gluten-intolerant, I think these taste good enough (of course people can change up their own add-ins -- chips, spices, baking powder, etc!) to be a nice, low-calorie, rather healthy treat. They're okay. They get the job done if what you're craving is a sweet little carb boost. :)
  • I calculated with the size of the bananas that I used. Just like any recipe, no one's turns out the exact same as another's. People can measure as they like. I also do say that I use approximately 1 cup of banana, which I feel is probably very helpful to sizing it all up. (And some of us don't own scales! Sorry!)
  • My favorite meals to make for myself and my family (I cook for my parents and brother, lol) for lunch on the go: *Roasted turkey/ham from the deli/tuna with quickly sliced bell peppers and cucumbers on pita or lavash bread (I skip the bread; paleo!!), plain Greek yogurt with some frozen berries and maybe some honey on top,…
  • This sounds wonderful. Anything with mushroom, cheese, and garlic, I'm all for it. ESPECIALLY asparagus. Not so leafy...but so wonderful. Pan-seared with all the above, one of the best things ever.
  • Acg67, you are a true gastronomic artist. Here are my sad meals, generally in the dining hall at my college. ^Breakfast! An entire pomegranate. At home, actually. ^Panera! Steak pesto lettuce wraps. Delicious, paleo lunch. ^SO GOOD. Dinner in the dining hall. Roasted root vegetables, broccoli, carrots, and spinach under…
  • Vegetarian pastitsio with vegetables. Avoided that potato. Apple and baby spinach salad with lemon, sesame, and olive oil. Tilapia and arugula and spinach. Chicken piccata with squash and green peas.
  • A+ answer, man. For me-- guys with long hair, and at least a little taller than I am. girls with cute pixie cuts, and about my height and size. everything else is personality.
  • Your guys' advice is really helpful. I suppose I'll need to stick with frozen produce for the most part, and indulge in a few fresh items (a squash, a big sweet potato, or asparagus) just once per week. I go through a lot of lettuce, though. And I think that the less expensive deli meats and canned/frozen fish should keep…
  • Any refined carb/simple sugar basically, and ...cheese. That means, for me: I love baking and baked goods, so I can easily eat far too much cookie dough, cake batter, brownie batter, sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, etc. It doesn't even matter if it's the finished product. I could eat that batter for days. Pasta, too…
  • Greek restaurant's vegetable plate! Steamed vegetables with spanakorizo, potatoes, & slice of meatless pastitsio. Steamed broccoli and corn, cherry tomatoes. Food from the dining hall, brought to the comfort of my dorm room. This was my dinner because I felt guilty about the day before. When dining hall was closed: I…
  • I spend a lot of time in the dining hall at my college, and this is the best I can do. Mushrooms, gluten-free pasta, beets. Chicken piccata, zucchini, peas. Tilapia, cooked spinach, and arugula. Chicken, zucchini, and gluten-free pasta with pesto and parmesan.
  • I'm in the same place. I'm not overweight but also not very "skinny," which is what I'd love to be, but maybe not really feasible. I'm at college now, too, and have actually lost weight since I'm (1) not really into a lot of the foods available on campus, and (2) no longer eating with my family, who are all themselves a…
  • Cherry tomatoes! They're delicious and actually filling? They're the best snack ever and can make up half a meal if you eat enough of them. Same with sliced green or red peppers. The crunch of them is wonderful and replicates whatever chips do for me. Also, fat-free Greek yogurt. Its density naturally keeps me from eating…
  • Any food, if I'm of the mind. But most often: a package (8 oz.) of cream cheese, a box mix of nearly any baking item (brownies, usually), a 13-serving tub of buttercream or chocolate buttercream frosting. I LOVE SUGAR.
