  • Totally worth it. Tips? When using it, you're going to be slowly rolling a body part over the roller...when you find the spot that is absolute agony, i.e., a knot in a muscle, (and it will hurt), stop right there, and apply as much pressure as you can stand until the pain subsides. Move on until find the next knot, repeat.…
  • Posted when this thread first started, but made some progress in the last couple of months... December 27, 2013 March 7, 2014
  • About 19 years ago, when I was fourteen years old.
  • Agree with all the prior posts. My triglycerides were through the roof (triglyceride count of 350, placed on medication) before I changed my lifestyle. Start a good all around fitness regimen that will increase your cardiovascular endurance, and build muscle, and find a healthy diet you can live with for a long while. Not…
  • Had visible abdominal muscles.
  • (The following is from personal experience, and may not apply to others) Insanity: Benefits: Huge calorie burns, and when you're done, your cardiovascular conditioning will be pretty darn good. Downfalls: The workouts are difficult. Very difficult, and to some, that can be discouraging. The intensity of the workouts is…
  • I lost weight probably due to the most negative of reasons...I got tired of being called "fat". My friends always made a few fat jokes at my expense (even though they're overweight as well, but I was heavier than they were), and now, I'm making the jokes. Now, I keep working out and eating right due to vanity, health, and…

  • Smoked from the age of 18 through the age of 27 (pack a day habit, Marlboro Reds). I quit cold turkey on August 27, 2007 (about 6 1/2 years ago), and have not smoked since. No patches, pills, or e-cigarettes. Just came down to willpower...and lots of sugar free gum.
  • Best of luck. Feel free to add me if you like. I'm currently in the second phase of P90X2. Since the beginning of 2013, I've completed two rounds of P90X, one round of a P90X/Insanity hybrid, and another month of a hybrid round.
  • Smoked from the age of 18 through the age of 27, pack of Marlboro Reds a day. Quit at the end of August 2007 (Almost 6 1/2 years), and did it cold turkey. Haven't had a smoke since. I did gain some weight (about 10 pounds), and this was way before I started getting fit. One thing at a time, I suppose.
  • Doing P90X2: 5 days a week, about an hour a day.
  • 2014 Mazda 6 (Manual Transmission)
  • Feel free to add me as well. Since the beginning of 2013, I've completed two rounds of P90X, one round of a P90X/Insanity hybrid, the first month of another hybrid round, and I'm currently in week 5 of P90X2. (before/after pics in profile) As for nutrition, for the first two rounds I followed the the nutrition plan…
  • Best to go by measurements. If P90X3 is anything like the original, a lot of folks didn't see any progress until the middle of the second month, or even until the beginning of the third month.
  • Resistance bands and dumbells (if they're the right weights) are enough, if you're okay with doing Yoga without a mat, and lying on the floor while doing Ab Ripper X. Basketball shoes, or cross training shoes with a thick sole are probably a good idea as well, due to the jumping around you'll be doing with Plyometrics.…
  • Yes. At 5'5", and 190 pounds, I was placed on blood pressure medication at the age of 26, with a BP of 150/115. Got up to 200 pounds, and was taken off when I lost 20 pounds (120/80). Started taking fitness seriously, down to 147 lbs, and last week had a blood pressure reading of 101/60.
  • I would guess it's a combination of A and B. (Increase in both efficiency and fitness). I'm sure you're not dogging it at all, just gotta up the intensity a little. Go for one, two more reps than the week before, do your best to focus on form. For me, it's always a great challenge trying to maintain good form and a high…
  • Blood pressure is at 101/60 (used to be 150/115).
  • Ozzfest, 2008, Frisco TX - Highlight of the evening: Metallica; all old school tunes, nothing post Black Album (even though I'm not a big fan of the Black Album), plus special guest King Diamond on the Mercyful Fate Medley. \m/
  • Bought a 64 oz water bottle at my local supermarket. Fill it up at the beginning of the day, make sure to have it done by 5 p.m. I loathe drinking water, but, hey, gotta be healthy and all that.
  • Yetserday: P90X2: X2 Balance and Power. Today will be: P90X2: X2 Core

  • I was actually leaner before, and the abs popped a bit more, but decided to work on getting a little stronger, and gain a couple of pounds. Feel much at my current weight, actually. First pic, 177 lbs (taken on December 27, 2012), second 147 lbs. (taken on January 7, 2014).
  • Love thrash metal, especially the Big Four (Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth).
  • Hello folks: I hope it's alright if I join, considering I'm not doing P90X3. I did a week of it, but I had a choice: shorter workouts, so I had to cut even more calories to stay at my current weight, or choose a program with longer workouts. I went with the latter option, so I'm in my 3rd week of P90X2. A little background…
