I hear a lot about corporal punishment making children more violent. So, I have been very glad when it was abolished in schools in South Africa where I live. If you have a lot of fat right now, you should already have quite a bit of muscle too. I would cut till bodyfat % is low enough, and do a good weight training plan to keep all my muscle. You can also have a look at this for some good info. http://scoobysworkshop.com/

As I understand it, sedentary would mean you are lying in a bed in a coma, and only your organs are burning calories to keep you alive. You will be surprised if you get a device like a fitbit at how much exercise you actually get from normal day to day tasks. I set mine to sedentary, and then let my fitbit flex add on…

I like to exercise in 4 sets of 8 reps per exercise. If I can lift the weight easily more than 12 reps per set, it is not heavy enough. If I cannot lift it for 8 reps in a set, then it is too heavy.
