Oh Meetup is such a great site. I'm on a few of them, none of the singles ones yet. I'm really liking this board gaming group. There's a hiking one I'm excited for, now that the weather isn't deadly. I don't think first dating is weird, unless you generally have 0 interest in the person. This exercise plan I'm on has me…

Nichole- Google Voice is a great idea. Dating just to date seems a little weird, imho. I think it possibly gets the other person's hopes up, and is kind of a waste of time/money. I do admit, that I have gone on dates where I wasn't 100% sure of the person beforehand, only to see if there was something I was missing out on…

Awesome! Nothing like a fresh pair.

First time on a bike this year knocked out a 17 mile ride and was able to keep pretty close to my super fit step dad.

I have not looked in to probiotics yet.

Wow this thread really fell to the Wayside. Tell me some of your little victories!!! So I think I've gotten as small as I can possibly get. Today I've realized I've gone from a men's 4XL to a size Small. My pants have gone from a size 48 to a 32.

Oh, *kitten*, what am I in for? I know people can end up leaking from every hole, which sounds horrid, but not the worst thing in the world.

I thought it might be running related, but didn't find anything in the searches. Looked around the net for info, but I doubt it is a twisted/obstructed bowel.

I've met much more quality people on OKC. I had to give up on the POF. There needs to be a Bariatric dating site, lol. That would make it easier. I wouldn't mind having someone to spend time with, but I'm not going to worry too much about it. Most of the women in my age range have baby fever, which is my biggest nope. It's…

Dating is poop But I can do a story time: 2 years ago I started dating a woman who had the sleeve procedure a year-ish before meeting me. She was the one who really got the cogs turning in my head, and went with me for my first seminar. She had lost a lot of weight, but had reverted back to her old ways. She ate carb…

Honestly, you need to find a therapist who can work with you through this. It will help way more than internet strangers can. Trust me, I've tried that route

Dating is poop. It'll work out for the better.

I was a huge fan of GNC's LeanShake 25 pre-op. Very filling and great flavors. After surgery, my bari center recommended a switch to something made with isolates, instead of concentrate (better absorption for our stomachs).
-
I agree, thank you for sharing this! I'm glad that you both seem to be in a better place now!
-
That's exactly it. the slippery slope effect. I think a lot of what some of the bari centers tell you is intentionally blown out of proportion, just to keep people from wanting to go back to old habits.
-
Glad you had a safe and fun trip!

Keep up with electrolyte loss. I typically down a tsp of salt in the mornings to help balance the lightheadedness

Good luck with it. It's a lot easier than you'll work it up to be!

So @amandacanales has inspired me a bit! Today, I'm going to start the half-marathon training plan from Darebee It's a 12 week course, which would have me running my marathon on Thanksgiving. Though with my current ability, I could shorten this to 10 weeks, I'm just going to give the full plan a go. There's no harm in 2…

Freeze dried edamame Jerky (if you find it on sale) water + protein powder for shakes (I'd measure out the doses and put them in individual snack bags) Almonds cheese sticks + turkey pepperoni s/f pudding cups Just a few. PS. Check the air pressure in your spare tire. They DO go flat over time.

Also, there is an app that can put the workouts right at your fingertips. It also includes timers. I haven't used the app yet but probably will after work today

They seem prohibitably expensive, when compared to a bottle of Centrum Chewables, or whole pills

I honestly didn't have a goal weight going in to all of this. My doc said that if I lost 80-85 I'd be doing well. I lost 88 pounds lot during my pre-surgery phases. Since Surgery day, I'm down 100, and sitting at 162. I'd like to try to lose that additional 12, just to say I got to 200, but honestly I am happy with where I…

I started the same run path, but in a different location, taking on the monster hills first. Completed the entire lap without stopping. I love progress! I agree with the head clearing mentality. It's like a therapy session, and has the added benefit of removing my innate stress. Cutting the carbs, or at least minimizing…

You gotta go with what makes you happy

I hope to get my 4.5 mile running loop down to a continuous pace. It's a difficult loop, because the hills don't kick in until after the first 1.5 miles. and they are long, angry hills. Once I can make it all the way around, I'll work on squeezing in another .5 mile for the even 5. I never thought I'd consider myself a…

Holy hell, how do you run so far?! I hit a personal best of 4.7 miles the other day, and around mile 3 I started gassing out. Very large hills though. Trying to improve on every run.
