You have done super well and deserve to be proud- 12 lbs extra or not. I know you can get back to your goal weight because you have the knowledge you need to do so. I love that you can acknowledge the weight gain without the panic or self-hate talk in your head that so many of us might have experienced in the past. That is…

You look great-- and the dress is way cute too! :)

Awesome!!!

I'm only 1 yr out but I totally get the weight gain thing because I became inattentive over the holiday months and put on 5 lbs. Now I'm trying to be mindful about what goes into my mouth and lose the 5 lbs and then hopefully another 10-15 after that. It is an ongoing process.

Congrats! Sounds like a great place to work. Enjoy every perk!!

Isn't that the best feeling! Good for you. :)

I have issue with anemia, but have had the issue on/off for years. My NUT has me changing my iron pills from the extended-release type I was getting from Target to a brand called Vitron-C. It has the vitamin C added that helps your body absorb more of the iron. You probably already know not to take iron with any type of…

[quote"Thaeda;34616112 Keep up the great work and happy surgiversary!![/quote] Thanks Thaeda! I should have added another goal: Watch for Thaeda's book to come out and recommend it to everyone. You are an inspiration to me and your words have helped to ground and center me during this past year when I have really needed it.

You are doing great-- and I love your shirt too!!

I look forward to hearing which option (or a combination?) you choose. I know you will find something that will work for you.

The ugliness that people hurl says everything about them- nothing about you. Some people think they have to tear down others to make themselves feel better. Yes, we are going to have excess/loose skin. But, we can move better, we are healthier, and most of the time we are wearing clothes that can cover that issue. Don't be…

Isn't it great to get to a place where you always wished to be, but never really thought you could? Congrats! I am sure you worked hard to reach this goal.

I puréed chicken with an Indian makhani sauce. I also puréed beef hash from a can. It sounds terrible but at that point the beef flavor was a wonderful break from the sweet protein drinks or yogurt.

I took 2 weeks. I would have been able to do my office job the 2nd week, but by taking that week off I was able to do my liquid-only 2 weeks (post surgery) at home rather than trying to do it at work. When I went back to work on week 3 I was on puréed food which I found easier to do at work.

I am sorry. I know you are ready for that new life we all want and now you have to put it on hold. Maybe you can think of it in terms that the WLS is going to add decades to your life, so waiting a few months will be small in comparison.

And I am in tears. What a timely and needed gift you have given us, Thaeda. I am enough.

You look terrific!

First, Congratulations! You have owned this process and created your own success. I know you must be proud and you definitely should be. Second, thanks for being an inspiration. You remind me that I am going to get out of this process what I put into it, and if I don't put in the effort I will not get the results. It is up…

You are thinking the same thing I thought. I was sure I would be the first person in history who didn't lose any weight after surgery. I was wrong and you will be too. Once you are on real food, you will feel the restriction--especially when eating denser foods, like hamburger. Have faith, you will continue to lose as long…

My NUT told me early on that she didn't care what my carb % was, as long as the carbs I had were from either my dairy (milk/greek yogurt) veggies or fruit. Some days I don't stick by that, but if possible, I try to limit my carbs to no more than 25-28%.

I am going to buy a belt for the first time since I was a teenager. I have never needed a belt because I would never consider tucking my shirt into my pants. I'm now ready to consider that option and buy a white oxford shirt to tuck into my black pants, with a belt for the pants. I have always loved that look but never…

Wow, you have done amazing work! I am envious and inspired. Good for YOU!!!

Like others, sweets are a hit/miss thing for me. Pre-surgery I loved ice cream. Post-surgery, it doesn't seem to sit very well so I stay at few spoonful's at most. I don't do much bread because it feels like a brick in my stomach, even when I toast it first. I can do a little bit of decaf coffee, but too much causes…

What a great topic! 1. Having my significant partner tell me how proud he is of me for making this tool work for me 2. Heels 3. More clothing options 4. Feeling good about myself, finally

Wow, what a powerful message you shared. I think your insight likely does apply to many of us, and for sure me. My weight was a manifestation of not dealing appropriately with emotions-be it stress, anxiety, depression, etc. Losing weight is great, and healthy, but it doesn't solve the underlying issues of not wanting to…

Fabulous!!

You are doing so great!! I can see the sparkle in your eye, so I know you are feeling great too!

This is the place to be for support. I'm 8 mos out.

I discovered my problem. It was the coffee drink I was getting at Caribou. It was a drink that was all coffee with just a little sugar/creamer/flavoring. I realized my worst symptoms came on days I had drank this. I stopped drinking it and my symptoms have disappeared. I'm a little sad to give it up, but I don't want to…
