I have a Polar FT4 too -- I love it. I don't really trust MFP/MapMyRun estimates. I'm also really lazy about working out in general, so seeing an actual number of calories burned helps motivate me. When I log the calories, I tend to log less though. I think that the HR monitors might be overcalculating my exertion level…
