Also, burgers are incredibly easy. All you need is minced beef, salt and pepper. There are all sorts of different schools of thought on how you go about assembling these ingredients (Google it), but it's rarely complicated. I would not add fillers or egg - that's for meatballs. Burgers are just meat. You'll get a far…

Goat is very tasty and I can recommend it, but if you can't get it, lamb is a reasonable substitute. When I visited south India, we kept encountering "mutton curry" - a whole range of dishes described in this very vague way. Completely delicious, like all the food we ate there. It wasn't until we had been there a week that…

I'm having to track all the time right now because if I take a break from tracking I seem to find it very hard to get back into it again. So I don't take breaks. Tracking everything is working fine for me just now, and if I have to do it forever then that's better than continuing to get heavier and heavier, but if I can…

Didn't actually realise Mackie's made either of those flavours. Don't know what sort of eye watering price you're talking about, but Mackie's are some damn fine crisps. We're talking classy snacks here. At home at any occasion. ETA their ice cream is even better, but tricky to import via Amazon. And not, as far as I know,…

It's existed for as long as we have kept dairy animals. Our ability to digest lactose in adulthood ('lactase persistence') is very unusual among mammals and something we specifically adapted to do as a result of dairy farming - plenty of populations never adapted to it, so globally, lactose intolerance is very common and…

It's just a calorie counting site, so it's compatible with any eating style. Weight management is all about how much you eat, not what you eat. Obviously different ways of balancing your diet have different effects in terms of hunger, muscle growth, digestive health etc but when it comes to losing, gaining or maintaining…

Oh dear, I didn't know this could happen with age. :o This would make me so sad!

It's not just toxins, they're just not very digestible and can upset your innards. Personally I prefer to eat potatoes within well established parameters. I love them, but they're from a difficult family and have some issues.
-
Well, radishes are basically tiny turnips (same family).
-
All my alarm bells are ringing.
-
Because this lot simply don't care. Not even to that minimal extent to make them think "oh, maybe 'eat raw potatoes' is bad advice". Giving bad advice is how they made their fortune. Why would they stop it now for the sake of some poor soul that trusts them enough to sit crunching raw potatoes in the hope it will solve…

There's truth in this - but for most people it's not quite plain sailing. Our 8-year-old is similarly adaptable, but it's been a long and winding road to get here, with many rough patches and battles. Sometimes you have to meet that battle head on, but other days you just want to put something on the table that will work…

Were your apples unsweetened? That might have been the issue. Add some honey to that yoghurt and that would be delicious.

Fish fillets. Super easy for a beginner. Add seasoning, wrap in foil, bake 180C/350F for 20 min. Or pan fry skin side down until nearly done (you'll see it turn opaque as it cooks), flip and cook briefly to finish, serve. Or put on a bit of greased foil and steam in a steamer for about 10 min. Add whatever seasonings,…

:| Haggis does not contain barley. Honestly, everyone likes to have a go at haggis because it's made of offal cooked in a sheep's stomach. I don't like the idea of minced spare parts cooked in pigs' intestines, but I still eat sausages :p if you're going to eat meat, it doesn't pay to be squeamish.

Also Walkers (Lays). And yes, they're marvellous. One of the all time great crisp flavours. I used to love those. I didn't think you could still get them? For the uninitiated, the flavour is supposedly based on some strange old dish called "hedgehog", not our actual prickly friends. My own exotic crisp recommendation is…

Yes, presumably it has something to do with breaking down starch into sugar. Which everyone can do, barring really strange and problematic health problems, and has nothing to do with "carb tolerance". But honestly, I've lost interest in this absurd woo. What I'm more interested in is the existence of crackers in flavours…

This is why weighing portions on a food scale is so crucial, at least at first. That stage can't be skipped.

I have a very high tolerance for Mcvities Cheddars. I can keep eating them all day. OP, if you haven't gathered, Dr. Oz is a quack. Unfortunately being a real doctor doesn't stop you being a quack. It just makes you a more culpable one - he clearly knows he's lying to people and doesn't care.

It's hard to get your head around just how little you need to overeat in order to gain weight. A dietitian told me all it takes is one extra chocolate biscuit a day. One. That will have you gaining a stone (14lb) in two years. That blew my mind. And it's also hard to grasp at first just how wrong you can be about portion…

We also have an increasing number of East Asian grocers that sell the very thinly sliced frozen meat for hot pot, which has sparked my interest. Thank you for the extra info!

Greek yoghurt with a little mayo can taste as good or better than mayo alone, and saves a lot of calories.
-
But they are faboobulous.
-
I'm averse to soggy sandwiches too. Sometimes I take sandwich fixings to work so I can make it and eat it right away. It's much better that way.

The bonking? You want to know what effect his calorie intake is having on his bonking? I mean... fair enough, but... that's a bit personal, really.

This is such a good service and I would recommend to anyone that they get a bra professionally fitted if possible. They are the most frustrating piece of clothing in the world to buy, as different styles are completely different shapes. You don't just need the right size, you need a shape that works for you. It makes…

Funnily enough I would always have named marks & sparks as one of the more reliable ones. Apparently not so.

The latter part is what's definitive. It's absolutely possible to run slower than your fastest walking speed. The difference is not speed but the moment of suspension. In walking, both feet are on the ground at the same time for part of the stride. In running, the first foot leaves the ground before the second foot lands…

Yeah, I missed the whole "healthy weight people fit into size 0" thing. I was taking @Noreenmarie1234 seriously but that makes me rethink my position. Don't be daft.
-
Well, even if it were the case, it would still be worth running over walking if you're short of time, because you're burning more calories per hour. Eg cycling is a very efficient way to travel and burns far fewer calories per mile than walking - but it's still great for weight loss because it burns more calories per hour.
