  • Wow, I had not heard that until now. A dietitian told me soy beans, but I tend to stay away from them as they are usually served smothered in salt and I also have high blood pressure. Quick research (i.e. Google search:blushing: ) indicates that while that was once the case, recent studies produced conflicting results and…
  • I am anemic. So getting enough iron is a daily battle for me. Anything green. Lots of spinach is my favorite way, chicken liver (if you eat it), clams and oysters if you like seafood. Soy beans are also good and you can make them all sorts of ways.
  • I wish I could tell you to not stress over it, but having been there, I know it’s impossible for you not to. You are actually doing a good job with your weight loss/tracking and monitoring. I think you will continue to see results. In addition to (not necessarily eating more to lose- but better put eating enough to fuel) I…
  • This if they are in conversation. This plus hello/good morning/Hi if they are not.
  • A little soreness is normal especially if you were not as active before. No pain no gain. I did not hurt as much in 30D shred, but P90x kept me very sore. My recommendations to stay on track: -focus on form. Pay attention all the instructions on particular moves to be sure your form is correct. I would even suggest…
  • my goal will be burn no less than 900 cals per week. hopefully that will get be to 10lbs or at least close to it by then

  • If I understood your question correctly, you are looking to tone the muslces in those areas not necessarily lose weight in those areas, right? In that case, I would try focusing on your entire core to reduce the muffin top/love handles look, rather than just your abs. Specifically, core exercises that work the oblique…
  • guess no one's interested :frown:
  • I add all my dvds in the My Exercise section. Then when I work out I search for it, select it and add calories burned based on my HRM. Especially, P90x. Calories burned vary SO much from person to person on these, that even if it was in the database it would be unreliable. You'll only have to enter them in once, then after…
  • seems like were're the only ones excited about it. Oh well. :)
  • I don’t really aim for a number because of cals burned, but because I have been “attempting” this for so long, I know how “hard” I am working based on the cals burned. That said, I aim for 300 during the week with my 30min workouts and 500 on the weekends when I have more time, like a full hour or more.
  • I agree with everyone else. The bf is right this time. Chest exercises can help them appear larger and firmer. Push ups! Get some!
  • you and me both!
  • You mentioned you were focused on your abs. I would try focusing on your entire core to reduce the muffin top look, rather than just your abs. Specifically, core exercises that work the oblique muscles. Incorporate them into your routine: -Dumbbell side dips are an easy one (with the right weights) -torso twists seems very…
  • I’m in the neither camp. An HRM is the most accurate and you don’t have to get the expensive ones that calculate calories burned. All you need is your average heart rate and you can use a formula to determine. Too many factors go into determining calories burned that neither mfp or the machines consider. And not all…
  • A) How old were you when you got engaged? I was 24, he was 23 B)How long had we been together before becoming engaged? We knew each other for 3 months before getting engaged. We were "engaged" for about 3 hours! C)How old were we when we got married? same as A D)Are we still together? (If so how long?) Yes. Married 8 years…
  • Tried Alli, made my heart race. Thought it was giving me energy, but I just crashed after and ate like a big. Tried one other pill I got form drug store. Worked similarly and made my heart race. I also found that even though I was working out, I was not getting “fit” if that makes sense. I just abandoned them.
  • Eating healthier should reduce constipation and help regulate bowl movements. But, as we know, everyone has a different definition of “healthier” especially since we are all coming from different starting places. Try adding, more water, fiber, flaxseed and vegetables. Look up daily recommendations and use your food diary…
  • My husband rides all year long. He can only get car pool parking pass or a motorcycle pass for work…so riding it is. He has one of those winter full body suites - looks funny to me. I go out on back in the winter, but my limit is 40 degree weather. This winter has been so mild though so it’s been awesome. If there is any…
  • Try: Vodka soda water 90-100 cals Gin Rickey 115- 125 cals Light beer Stay away from Mixers: OJ, coke, redbull etc Desert sounding things: Chocolate martini, buttered rum Tips -I use Mio for my water, so I always have a bottle of that in my purse. Squirt in your vodka soda and it makes fora yummy drink with no added…
  • I buy all my bras from biggerbras.com I am in the US, but I think it is a UK site. I find that the UK has better fits. For sports bra I get the Shock Absorber level 4 bra. I have also used figleaves.com
  • All good advice here. Chicken with mixed veggies, beef with broccoli, Mixed Vegetables, all with SAUCE ON SIDE. They don’t like to hear that, but most places will do it. That way I get to taste the yummy sauces but I control how much. I am not a carb hater, so I am all for the rice, just get steamed white rice. Something…
  • Without knowing where you are, my suggestion would be the local YMCA. They usually have tons of classes and freebies. Ours has machines too.
  • When I first started I used what mfp says. Once I got more serious I got a very basic HRM. From the research I have done HRMs are more accurate. If I were to compare, mfp was pretty close on most things except running. I think that is more a reflection of my physical fitness rather than mfp. For me, machines are always way…
  • So much pain. I was crying. Can we fire Williams? I mean, really? Like 3 huge mistakes. So MISSED Ginn. Damn injuries. Oh niners, we love you. Next year it is. I will try not to cry.
  • I'm 183
  • I too struggled a lot with the p90x yoga and a lot of the other videos I did. In fact, I still have a hard time finishing the p90x one. I think that is because, much of what is sold on DVDs are considered “power yoga” and a real yoga enthusiast may argue that it isn’t really yoga. (Haha, we will see what can of worms that…
  • It's been a rough couple years. So happy to see the 49ers back on track!!! GO 9ers!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I think making yourself a really big pot of soup that you only have reheat each time, might be helpful. That way even if you aren’t able to fully focus on eating right, your sodium is under control and you’ve got the nutrients of veggies. Another thing I find helpful when I am sick is yoga. No, not the power yoga stuff on…
  • The entire process (if taken seriously) is a lifestyle change not so much a diet. I view it similarly to smoking. Some people can quit cold turkey, others need the patch to gradually reduce how much they smoke. And, it often depends on if they were a pack a day smoker or a social smoker. Weight loss is similar. The poor…
